Guest guest
hi just to let everyone know of our experience with nystatin. we had been taking it since october, and eddie was doing well on it. after some time of taking it eddie's mouth, and skin around the area became red, dry, sore. i didn't put this down to the nystatin as we had already been on it a month or so. in my last consult with dr goyal we were discussing the red mouth and dr goyal remembered that in some children it causes irritation around the mouth. so i stopped it last friday and the mouth has cleared up (no other changes). karenza
Guest guest
When my son had nystatin as a baby his face and mouth were virtually paralysed. He drooled, couldn't swallow and his face and eyes drooped. After repeat episodes with other medication research led me to the benzoates E210 - E218 that are in most childrens liquid meds. This was the start of our elimination diet journey and realisation that all preservatives affect his nervous system and cause soreness in his mouth BWAlison R hi just to let everyone know of our experience with nystatin. we had been taking it since october, and eddie was doing well on it. after some time of taking it eddie's mouth, and skin around the area became red, dry, sore. i didn't put this down to the nystatin as we had already been on it a month or so. in my last consult with dr goyal we were discussing the red mouth and dr goyal remembered that in some children it causes irritation around the mouth. so i stopped it last friday and the mouth has cleared up (no other changes). karenza
