Guest guest
Dear friends, Check this website: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/results?term=down+syndrome This is the list of current studies, including drug trials, on Down syndrome, being conducted through the National Institutes of Health. You may notice Aricept is listed in several studies. To date, that is the ONLY drug that appears to have (meaning maybe) some beneficial affect on DS. There have been no none no nowhere no nohow no noplace successful tests of any other substance. I mean a successful double-blind study, in which neither the patient nor the clinician knows if patient is taking the drug or a placebo. (It has been demonstrated, however, that a balanced diet of carbohydrates and proteins is good for most people. Just wanted you to know that. Also plenty of exercise and rest. In case you weren't aware.) If you are interested in participating in one of the DS trial studies, contact the people listed on the website. But please don't go trying things because somebody tells you that a friend of his named is onto a terrific treatment for whatever condition you are worrying about. Boiled garlic just doesn't taste that great. Al Veerhoff, Kensington, MD (just up the road from NIH) father of Will and , identical twins with DS and soon to be 18 McCain or Obama?
