Guest guest
-----Original Message----- From: dragonflymcs <dragonflymcs@...> Question : People of Little Resources : How do you test a place for safety before moving there with little funds??? THAT IS THE QUESTION I have been facing for months now. I do not know what I would do if I had to rent a place. The only thing I know to do is find a room to rent with other people who are willing to let me test the room/house out first for a few days. I found someone willing to do that for me and who even made great changes for me only for there to be problems later anyway beyond her control. There is just always gonna be the unexpected, the unknown, I think. It looks like I may be able to move back to that place again at some point and I hope so. But I seem to constantly encounter problems no matter what I do. Getting well and gaining tolerance, that is the only solution I know that will make life better and easier again. Just hope that will happen. anita
Guest guest
I found that two things help-one is just your own nose. If you smell or feel anything I'd listen to what my body is telling me. Also those cheap little mold test kits you get from Home Depot or Lowe's are remarkably effective for a fast test. It won't give you details on what kind of mold is there or where the mold is exactly, but it will pick the mold spores out of the air for you and they WILL bloom on the petri dish. I have used it alot and safe rooms do not show any mold, while moldy rooms produce a horror of weirdly colored mold spores on the dish. It takes a few minutes of exposure then you cover the dish and let it develop. You can take the dish home-it develops anywhere! In a few days you'll know if anything is flying around the rooms. I have used it successfully after remediation to find that the dish was clear. It's just a little extra something for me. > > -----Original Message----- > From: dragonflymcs <dragonflymcs@...> > > Question : People of Little Resources : How do you test a place for safety > before moving there with little funds??? > > THAT IS THE QUESTION I have been facing for months now. Guest guest
Everytime I moved into a moldy place I usually had a physical reaction long before I could smell anything. Although my initial exposure there was a very strong musty smell but that was because the crawl space had a sewage leak in it for at least a year and a half. Funny how no one complained about till I after I moved in. > > I found that two things help-one is just your own nose.
