Guest guest
I love to cook and until recently NEVER EVER added salt unless I was baking...my son developed a condition when he was 17 that the cardiologist told us was from our generation steering away from salt .. the treatment for the condition initially is high salt diet,, I went ballistic on doctor as there is a VERY VERY VERY strong familial history (all sides) of hypertension, etc. My son takes great pleasure in showing me how he sprinkles salt all over his food! I usually love to cook but just haven't had energy lately, Do you use a crockpot? If you place say a roast or ham slice, anything wrap either white or sweet I prefer sweet..in aluminum foil and place individually on top of what your cooking... have to cook on low at least 7 hours..THEY ARE THE BESTEST 'baked' sweet potato! My husband will eat some sweet potatoes, no tomatoes (I laugh since he does eat barbeque sauce, marinara, pizza, etc), almost no beans... he is slowly coming around but it is easier to get some of the grains in him then beans (barley, quinona, etc) Debbie in NJ > > My DH doesn't like sweet potatoes but I like the baked sweet potato fries with a mustard/honey dressing for dip. He can't eat potatoes or tomatoes or products from them. He can't have beans either so I am not sure how he could eat totally vegan, if he wanted to. I like most of the things, but don't like to do all the preparation. I like to do things quickly.   Now if I had a really good cook who could leave out some salt I'd be in great shape. >  > > Carolyn Wilkerson > > >
