Guest guest
Raw milk is often WAY more tolerated by most than commercial dairy, which is loaded with steroids, hormones, antibiotics and the other stuff cattle are fed. I was " allergic " to dairy my entire life (not just lactose intolerant, but true allergy) until I discovered raw milk-now it is a staple for me (I have my own cows) My cows are well cared for, clean, pasture fed, and healthy, and raw milk contains all of the enzymes needed to digest itself, so it is rarely a problem for even the most dairy intolerant. I make butter, buttermilk, raw cheese, kefir, yogurt and other goodies from it. For me, it was a far better option than being totally vegan, although I am vegetarian. I avoid soy like the plaque. You can make a homemade " tofu " using black beans, white beans, or other bean options besides soy, if you still want that source of protein-it is easy to make, and you also end up with a lovely creamy bean " milk " in the process! > > > > i think if you got off the dairy, they would go down... Maybe try it for a month & go have your blood tested again & see what happens! Have you ever heard of Dr Fuhrman? Eat to Live is one of the books he's written & he has cured people of diabetes, heart disease, cancer ... all by eating a plant based diet. He recommends at LEAST 1 lb of raw veggies (lots of leafy greens) and 1 lb cooked veggies, no oils (or very very minimal), at least 4 fruits and nuts, seeds > > > >  > > > > > > Patti > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Good luck in finding that group or groups and with the triglicerides. Can you exercise? That may be a key. It is what they tell me. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, April 2, 2012 10:31 PM Subject: Thanks Patti was crazy medical question  Dairy is one of the ones I have a hard time giving up but ALL my dairy is low fat (or nut/rice milks). I am reading Dr Fuhrman.. I just got to his 6 week and saw the no dairy.. I cringed. Between the green smoothies, snacking on the sprouts, salads I;m sure I was getting the 1lb raw. Also the fruit (again with the smoothies and just plain fruit). The cooked I am moving toward. My other problem with the diet is he has soy protein... I am not supposed to do soy as it is a natural estrogen and I have a HUGE problem with blood clotting. I have a bunch of Vegan cookbooks and am trying to find some vegetarian recipes as well. I know anyone who tried say the black bean " meat " balls thought they were my regular meatballs..they were tasty! I had not liked hummus that I had at Greek restaurants but I found a recipe for roasted garlic, roasted red pepper hummus that WAS OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!! So I think two things.. I might need to see what else I can do besides soy (though I did have a tad of silken tofu in a carrot soup - but it was 1/3 cup which was next to nothing...)I'm going to see if their is a YahooGroup for both Vegetarian newbies and Dr Fuhrman's diet. I should say that I know my elevated triglycerides is a heridarty condition (Type IV Hyperlipidemia)I know I HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT! But even when I was thin I had very HIGH triglycerides (one time they were off the chart). Again thanks Debbie in NJ > > i think if you got off the dairy, they would go down... Maybe try it for a month & go have your blood tested again & see what happens! Have you ever heard of Dr Fuhrman?
