Guest guest
Google moisture meters and you'll find them from $20 to $2000 or more. $100 should get you a decent one. $50 or so should be useable. But you must be careful with interpreting the numbers absolutely. Carl Grimes Healthy Habitats LLC (fm my Blackberry) [] Moisture Meter Anyone know of a good moisture meter. We can pay more if need be for a good one since we are splitting between my extended family here. Good but not crazy expensive... Thanks... Guest guest
I believe you on that. The I'm not sure the numbers were exactly correct when our inspector checked our flooring at 20%. Im also not sure the moisture he found behind the shower wall was really that much moisture (again around 20%) I dont thinkthe tiels were wet so not sure what was going on. The area back there check fine when the walls were taken down. It was the knee wall that was the source of mold growth and that should have been obvious due to the gaping seam and the tiles falling off.. it was wet in there. Im going to do this anyway and learn from it one way or another. Thanks.:-) Robin > > Google moisture meters and you'll find them from $20 to $2000 or more. $100 should get you a decent one. $50 or so should be useable. Guest guest
Robin Im sure by now you've already googled moisture meter's but I was thinking about buying one as well. Both Lowes and Home Depot carry them and they can get pretty darn expensive. Best of luck > > I believe you on that. Guest guest
Hi Robin, I am new to the group.....but not new to mold issue. A moisture meter is great if there is moisture, but if there is dry rot it will not detect it. Dry rot is mold and very dangerous because the spores are still active and float in the air easily and still spew thier mycotoxins if disturbed by the slightest of air because they are so dry.
