Guest guest
Susi, Congrats that is a WONDERFUL score. Out of curiousity what is the UT-Austin average?- since I know you were looking there. I really appreciate it. I have been sick since last Friday and trying to study when I didn't feel like sleeping, so I am not as up on the messages as I would like to be. I'll try and catch up this weekend. I'm off to Chicago tomorrow night for the MBA Forum. All of the schools I plan on applying to will be there, so I can meet people from each institution in one fell swoop. Now...the GMAT. First of all, I'm glad it is over. My unofficial score is a 650 (on a scale of 200 to 800), which is the 85th percentile overall. The average GMATs of last year's class at the business schools I am applying to are 643, 620, 660, and 632. That puts me above the average at three of the four schools and very close to the average on the other one. I scored in the 90th percentile on the Verbal part of the test and 61st percentile on the Math part of the test. I was disappointed in my math performance simply because I had done better on practice tests. I was thrilled with the verbal results. Overall, the perfectionist in me would have LOVED a higher score...BUT, if somebody would have told me last week that I was going to get a 650 on the test, I would have been thrilled. I guess that just means I have to stop being so critical of myself, huh? LOL Again, thanks for the support. Guest guest
<sigh> UT Austin is the one that is the 660. That is the school I really want to go to. I did do some reading today that indicated that my score should be fine at just 10 points below their average. We'll see!! It stands for Graduate Management Admissions Test. I'm applying for MBA (Masters in Business Administration) programs beginning Fall 2001. I want to attend a program where I can focus on a concentration in eCommerce. Thanks for your kind words. Susi
Guest guest
Susi, Yes don't worry about the UT-Austin average because they TRY to take out of staters in the Grad School. I'm sure all your career experience will weigh heavily in your application. Good luck on the applications. I don't envy you there. At least there is something exciting to look forward to.
