Guest guest
Hi Joy and Joyce, If you cannot get a prescription from a doctor (it is not mainstream so my docs won't prescribe it but they know that I use it and are very interested in my progress on it). Also, it can be expensive from a compounding pharmacy. If you go this route, please read the LDN website: http://www.low dose naltrexone.org/comp_pharm.htm There are a number of things to watch out for such as the binders and to make sure they do not use an extended release tablet as the source of LDN when they make the dilution or tablets. Please research this so you can direct the pharmacy. I purchase mine from an Indian online pharmacy. Please backchannel if you would like the website. It costs me $16/for 3 months plus $25 in shipping. I usually purchase 6 months at a time to reduce the shipping costs. I mentioned this in a post last week. Good luck! Guest guest
I don't know why you'd have to order LDN from India(unless you can't get a prescription), it's so easy to order from one of the pharmacies recommended on the www.low dose naltrexone.com website, and it's very cheap. Two times I've received a two month supply (60 caps of 4.5mg) for about $40, including shipping. And they are fast about sending it. When you call them up to order, they are knowledgeable about LDN, and friendly. I think it's important to get it from a recommended pharmacy that knows the correct way to compound it, and what not to include in the mix. Tha place I've used is Gideon's Drugs in New York, (212) 575-6868. Guest guest
Thanks, Dave, have been away for a few days so going thru mail and just got this. So over everything. Looking at a promising house soon but who knows if its going to completely mold free and no way im throwing everthing out for the 5th time......When you took the ldn were you in a mold free environment? Sleep is very important. Maybe you could try lowering the dose? It may be worth you trying since you are in a relatively mold free environment? Sorry you are still going through craziness of trying to find a safe place too. Like you i wouldnt wish this bs on anyone.. ----- Sent from mBox Mail on my iPad http://www.fluentfactory.com/mboxmail ________________________ On 2011-02-26 10:21:24 +1100 Tug <tug_slug@...> wrote: > > Cara, take this from the voice of experience, as long as your in your WDB > medications aren't going to work. Guest guest
Hi Dana-  Finding the studies so compelling, I tried the LDN Protocol for about a year through a compound pharmacy. Hard to say if there was any benefit as not too long afterward, ended up having a massive infection removed from my mouth/jaw which that in itself, helped me more than anything I've done since I got sick. Understandably so.  Kathy --------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ ------- Tue Feb 22, 2011 4:25 pm Dana S <candalah@...> Just wondering whether anyone has had any experiences with trying Low Dose Naltrexone for thier autoimmune stuff? Guest guest
Cara I still have the LDN and decided to start taking it again but decided to take it immediatly after I wake up. I realize the appropriate time to take it is before I go to bed but I couldn't sleep with it when I took it that late. Yes, the first time I took it I was in a mold free hotel room but at the time was able to afford a weekly myers cocktail and I honestly believe those iv's were what helped me the most. Your body needs to detox and IMO if your even in a slightly contaminated building the IV's might just be enough to push you over the hump and help you handle a low level of exposure. Before I became ill I had a rather expensive watch collection and ended up selling it for a third of what it was worth so I could afford glutathione iv's and even though some of the watches were in my family for well over 80 years and it broke my heart to have to get rid of them, the IV's have made a noticeable difference in the way I feel. Today is the 3rd day I've gone to the gym and the first day my conversation with V didn't center around mold, it was nice to laugh and actually enjoy my life again. Dont get me wrong I was still a little light headed but at least I could function and live like a normal human being. I just hope my progress continues. > > > > > Cara, take this from the voice of experience, as long as your in your WDB > > medications aren't going to work. So nice that you are back with V again too What is the myers cocktail? Yes hard to let go of some of your belongings but in the end they dont mean much if you arent well!! I hope your progress continues and please continue to let us know how you go. Guest guest
The Low Dose Naltrexone is only effective if you take it before you go to bed, it must be in your system from 2-4am to boost the immune system. You must be clear of all narcotics or it will have negative effects. Perhaps you are taking too much, dose of 3mg is a starting dose, 4.5 mg is maximum dose. I have never met anyone who had sleeping difficulties with it, but we are all different. > > Cara I still have the LDN and decided to start taking it again but decided to take it immediatly after I wake up. Guest guest
Dave, How are you going taking ldn in morning? Saw this posted elsewhere Look at this website: http://www.ldnscience.org/ " Individuals vary in their metabolic speed and this will result in inter-patient variation... " Can you comment further on the range of dose and dosing interval? This is something that at present can only be determined through trial and error or trial and success. Most patients do well with a single daily dose of 4.5mg, however some patients require less, and others require more, sometimes even 2 pills a day. The dose range for beneficial effect is usually between 2.5mg and 10mg per day. There is no reason to take LDN at night if it interferes with sleep, it is as effective if taken during the day When is the best time in the day to take LDN? The clinical trials conducted so far have not shown any difference in effect if LDN is taken at night or in the morning. Most users prefer to take it in the evening, however this does sometimes disturb sleep in some individuals, and for these people taking it in the morning is preferred > >> >> Cara I still have the LDN and decided to start taking it again but decided >> to take it immediatly after I wake up. Guest guest
The problem with LDN is finding someone who will prescribe it.
Guest guest
If you search the archives, you will find how other get it. you are wasting your time if you expect to go to a mainstream doc of any kind for a prescription. Possibly an integrative doc in private practice. or try http://www.low dose naltrexone.org/. I buy mine from overseas without a script and I pay about $16 for a 3 month supply plus $25 shipping. I buy much more from them and several months at a time. I use a pay-as-you-go debit card from the grocery store so no bank info is used in the transaction. I have been doing this for 3 or 4 years now. Marti > > The problem with LDN is finding someone who will prescribe it. > > > >
