Guest guest
She has to have a basement where she could put in a big tank. Takes 1000 gallons for 2 lbs of fish per one of the stations. Someone else said 2 gallons per 2 lbs but that isn't enough.  If I had a pool like the one long one I saw i'd use it for an exercise pool. Great for walking. Might be too small for laps. Don't l=think I'd like the smell and the fish made me desire fish less. Hearing how many lbs of poo they put out in the water and how it has to be filtered and backwashed out, etc. just didn't seem appetizing.  But wpould know more what went into them. Did you read the part about a breeding female having 1000 babies each breeding? Sure would be prifit making if the expense of cleaning water and feeding wouldn't be too much. Sounds like water cleaning and heating would be expensive. They grow them outside in AR but I haven't seen one of the hatcheries. There is a trout hatcherie there too. I have never tried trout. I do like tilapia though. But they aren't a pretty fish.  I don't think Melody can manage that in an apartment. She'd have to find her a place a bit farther in upstate nY or go south a bit where she could get land or a house with basement. Cost of living is low in AR for buying property. Basements would be good as they have tornadoes all the time. Can grow things there too, including ice. I thought it was so strange to see rice farms down there. It is something we think of as the orient.   Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, June 18, 2012 5:04 PM Subject: Re: my very first sproutlings...  The funny part, Melody, is YES, I CAN picture you doing that! Guest guest
Did you see some of the figures? One place said that 2 gallons would accommodate 2 lbs but then others said no, that it had to be 1000 gallons of water for 2 lbs of fish. So that acquarium won't hold much.  300 gallons by this figure doesn't even have a lb. Problem is cleaning the water. Have to find a really big acquarium. or reallyu big filtering and purifying system for water. Good thought though. Have to keep temperature about 80 degrees too.  Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, June 18, 2012 4:17 PM Subject: Re: my very first sproutlings...  Can you picture me (in my apartment) with a 300 gallon aquarium with fish swimming around? Guest guest
Do you have a 2nd bathroom with a tub in it? That might work for 2. What happens when the female has 1000 babies? i don't know if those are eggs or if those are kept in a pouch and then come out of the patch when hatched or if they are born. Not a mammal but a fish. But your bathtub would be filled with all those babies. Could sell off a few fingerlings maybe or the breeding couple and raise your own breeders. Bit crowded for an apartment.  Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, June 18, 2012 4:17 PM Subject: Re: my very first sproutlings...  Can you picture me (in my apartment) with a 300 gallon aquarium with fish swimming around? Guest guest
WOW thats amazing. So you know I have to ask, how do you make your own silver? We make our colloidal silver, but you can get it at any health food store for under 10 bucks a bottle (last I checked anyway) DON'T believe any hogwash you hear about silver turning you blue-total bologna, but people not familiar with it will say such things. That comes about from some people who went overboard using it when it first came out in the 70's-their skin took on a bluish tinge, and the pharmaceutical companies jumped all over the chance to trash it. Carrot will turn your skin orange if you consume too many, so don't believe that if you research and find that type of info-silver is safe, effective, and affordable, which is exactly WHY the pharmaceutical companies don't want you using it! Silver is routinely put in newborn babies eyes at just about every hospital on the planet-mainly because it is so effective and gentle, and kills any bacteria the baby may have gotten in the birth canal. GSE is about 10 bucks a bottle too, and a bottle lasts forever! I use Nutribiotic brand-available at the health food store. I use it for cleaning and disinfecting my kitchen, carpets, in my dishwasher, etc, and also use it internally-GREAT stuff. GSE (citridiol) is the main component in what our soldiers take to other countries to disinfect drinking water. Good stuff! > > / Melody please tell me more about Silver and GSE.... We do have 2 pools. Guest guest
Doesn't silver build up in your system though?  We have all kind of bacteria in our systems but if we do something to let our immune system be weak, we can get something. My legs were swelling (edema) and I didn't take the diuretic every day because it was difficult to go places when you feel you have to run to bathroom all the time. So if I were going someplace, I didn't take it. I also am on computer a lot and my legs are down rather than up. Doctor told me to start putting up my legs and propping them up or putting in a chair or footstools if I was on computer. I can only do it a bit before I get sore that way and put them down. My concern is that it could be strep or staph. I don't get infections much. My husband has had a number of infections, and some with staph as he bumps his legs and then it gets started. Seems like him working in the yard causes it more. Well I never got anything before, but this time I have something and won't know until Tuesday when I get the results back. They are going to do an ultrasound on my legs on Wed. Probably to see if there is any problem with any particular veins, etc. I have a good pulse in my ankles. So I have wraps around myt legs and look like a mummy who is losing the wrappings. They don't stay on the feet and ankles very well. Dave rewraps but they still fall down. I haven't gone anywhere since doctors on Friday.  Hopefully amoxicillin will clear it up or get it under control. If staph usually give Bactrim. Dave is allergic to that. He broke out in a rash 2 years ago. He hasn't had much of a problem since then. I take one teaspoon once a day. So does my husband. I haven't been on (or needed to be on ) an antibiotic for YEARS. Before antibiotics were invented people used to take silver as a treatment and as a preventive. They are done much research in refining colloidal silver. I find this product very very helpful in maintaining optimun health. But we have to do what works for us. Go to Google and type in Silver Biotics. It's available at most health stores or online. Guest guest
Don't use water from the tap. Be sure to get distilled water. There could be germs in the water either from the city or from residues in your own pipes.   Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, June 18, 2012 11:39 PM Subject: Re: my very first sproutlings...  Your questions are not stupid in the least-we all had to learn somewhere, NOOOO, don't drink a whole bottle-you only need a little for it to be effective, and should only need it when you feel the need-such as a cold coming on, bladder infections, etc. As for your eye doc...he is as clueless as the rest. Did he say you have blephritis? That usually causes some cakey residue on the eyelids, and could easily be dealt with with some colloidal silver on a q tip, and by lightly scrubbing your eyelids with your eyes closed, with baking soda while you are in the shower. If you read the list of ingredients on baby shampoo, you will realize you don't want that anywhere near your eyes! You can buy a glass eye wash cup at any pharmacy for a couple of dollars, and you can use that to rinse your eyes with a simple homemade eyewash, or colloidal silver. I make my eyedrops from boric acid (pharmaceutical grade) baking soda, a little sea salt and a little colloidal silver. I mix up a fresh batch every few days, and keep them in a brown glass bottle with a dropper-I sanitize it before adding the drops. I also have a glass spray bottle with a perfume dispenser type pump, which is great for misting your eyes when they are dry. > > > > If one was to get some at there local store, what do they do with it? > > Thanks > > > > > >  > > Want to understand the Bible better? > >  FREE  studies. > >  For more info Just ask! > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
iT sure looks feasible. The fish water goes in through gravel and fertilizes the plant beds and then goes back cleaned out into the fish pond.  It was very interesting to see the set up. Some were very small with a barrel but that was for goldfish and that was to keep mosquitoes down and to produce the fertilizer. Might have to add a few goldfish to the tilapia as well. I don't know if tilapia eat mosquitoes. `Any woman who can own cows and have her own milk and make cheese, yogurt, etc., can grow her own fish as well. The one hispanic looking guy had some catfish and tilapia and also some crayfish as well. He had a pretty big set up with a big container at the bottom and then some boards on top with the planters up there. If y ou didn't see that one look at it. He was netting his fish to get them out into a holding tank to take some fish out to prepare to eat, fish cookout I think he said. He was letting out some of the water I think to put some fresh in. Howev er, if he had enough plants he probably wouldn't have to do that. He also had a very small area where he had baby tilapia that were born or hatched there. Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, June 18, 2012 9:52 AM Subject: Re: my very first sproutlings...  There is a man a couple of towns over from me that raises tilapia in those blue plastic swimming kiddie pools-very cool setup indeed!
