EW - thanks from me too for the tip. I've got the broccoli and arugula/cress

trays going and they both got leaves really fast. The broccoli is only about

1/2 " after two days planted, and the other is an inch or so. I uncovered those,

and now have some artificial light going. I hope they grow a little more

vigorously than the last batch.

tonight.

Melody,

I buy mine from sprouthouse.com. They are biodegradable Sure To Grow TM Mats.

To plant outdoors, I put the mat (after I have harvested the sunnies)on a bare

area of dirt, sprinkle a little dirt over it and water. I have sunflowers

growing in three areas by doing this. I buy my sunflower seeds from

Sproutpeople.

I am soaking beet seeds and cilantro seeds today. The directions say they need

to be grown in soil. Has anyone tried them on STG mats?
