Guest guest
I'm sorry for too many posts & letting myself go here. This needs to go in the files if it's not there. I am the canary of our bunch. I thought I wasn't going to make it the last year in our mold rental. I was so desperate after living there 4 yrs. I called every resource there was twice. If over certain income limits, there is no help! Too many need help these days. I spent a few nights at my moms, coughing slowed, wishing I didn't have to go back. Other family with ignorance are afraid to take you in. One told me to call a shelter! If we even got a bed that might make us sick, would they understand our diet needs. We wouldn't want to insult their food offerings. I had to go GFCF the last year to survive, got throat swelling to gluten. My mom wanted to but couldn't. It's not allowed in a 1 bed Sr. apt. It would have been hard for me as a mom to leave my kids behind. I credit God with giving my husband the opportunity to work 10 hour days, 7 days to get us out.  Looking back we should have walked away & lived in our car. Would have been hard on the kids but we would have been out. I didn't know then we couldn't take some things. If I recover I need to help in our state. All of us are so alone when we can't move with not enough savings. You might try looking for one in your area if you can afford it. You can post free on MCSSafeshelterUSA. I do wish you luck finding a safe place to stay. ....Corky
