Guest guest
Hello everyone, it's been awhile. I hope you all are doing well. I've still been lurking here and there when I can and always loving the great conversation as usual. For us personally, we've just had so much going on at my Husband's work, I've gone back to school and on top of that we also recently relocated and are still trying to get everything organized and unpacked. Sadly, life did not lend me much time to conquer the EasySprouter. The twice I tried when I had the time, it was an epic fail for my Broccoli Sprouts. However in the E-Sprouters defense, it could very well have been the fact that I followed the instructions on the " NOW! " seed container regarding the use of Citric Acid. I'm pretty sure that is likely what may have gone wrong even though I never tried a batch out without it. As a result, this time round I am not going to use the acid, just plain ordinary water(which all the rest of you seem to have better success with LOL). Oh well, so much for the fancy " anti-germi/fungicidal " techniques. Things will probably go a lot smoother the old fashioned way. After spending much time in between watching Melody's videos on YouTube (which always make me smile and brighten my day, I really just love her) - I recently gave in and purchased the Handy Pantry Stacking Tray Sprouters. So sometime I'll begin the process and see how things go this time around. After watching Melody's videos about the trays - it just seemed so simple and she always has quite a good yield and as a result - sprouts always available. I've been purchasing my sprouts between Whole Foods and Trader Joe's but now that we've settled in a bit, growing my own successfully is an absolute must as its quite expensive otherwise. So I was wondering... for both Melody and anyone else who has used this particular type/brand of sprouter; any words of sage advice so that perhaps these crops will be a success? It comes with 3 trays, so I think I'm going to do one tray of Fenugreek, Broccoli and Salad Mix and go for the gusto and see what happens this time around. I've got my fingers crossed so anything any of you might wish to chime in on in terms of nuggets of wisdom would be most appreciated. Here's hoping for the very best and the ability to post up some pics of a useable crop!
Guest guest
Hi there. Glad you are enjoying my videos. The only bit of wisdom I can give you on using the round green trays is after you have soaked the seeds, and you pour them into a tray, try and do one layer of seeds. When you are rinsing and draining, they will move around of course but when you are finished tap tap tapping to get all the water out and you are ready to stack them one on each other, take your fingers and try and get them to be evenly distributed on the bottom of the round green tray. When I do this (it takes just a few seconds) after the first two or three days, then I don't have to do this anymore because the sprouts have taken root, they don't move any more and they grow nice and plump and tall. I really didn't pay attention to doing this when I started using the tray and sometimes the yield would be lopsided, so I figured it out. I had too many seeds on one side and not enough on the other side. By spreading them out evenly (these trays yield quite a bit of sprouts believe me) you'll get nice and tall plump sprouts. You got some nice seeds there. You'll love them. Keep us informed. Take care Sproutingly, Melody > > Hello everyone, it's been awhile. I hope you all are doing well. Guest guest
As always Melody, I appreciate the wisdom of your experience. Now, as my husband jokes around - I'm off to get things started in the new trays until he starts mimicking Sproutpeople's video chant of " 12 hours later " repeatedly LOL. > > > > Hello everyone, it's been awhile.
