Guest guest
Dear Pat, It is my laymans experience with my own two bouts of shingles that informed me: 1. You have to have had Chicken Pox first -- if you don't remember having them-you must have had a very mild case. 2. The virus (otherwise known as herpes zoster hides in the nerve endings) stays dormant for years and may never manifest itself as shingles. Unfortunately it does when you are really run down, take immune suppressants, old and sick, etc... You usually only get them once. I took large doses of Zovirax daily and used topical ointments for almost two months until it stopped and started to heal. Good Luck,
Guest guest
I did some reading on shingles. There is quite a list of recommendations in this book that I have. Bottom line is an amino acid called L-LYCINE, and the fact that you need to repair your immune system. There is a list of about fifteen different vitamins, herbs and minerals as well. Bottom line that I can suggest to you is addressing glutathione. It is what fights off disease in your body. A very powerful detoxifier and antioxidant. If you want the list of fifteen I will give it to you. Shingles is a disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus. And the only thing that I know that can actually fight back against the virus is glutathione. You already own it, you just need to give it the proper building blocks and let your cells fight the good fight. We are our best defence. Guest guest
> > Could this itching be shingles? > How can I treat this? ==>Scientists call the chickenpox/shingles-causing agent varicella- zoster. Varicella is a Latin word meaning " little pox " to distinguish the virus from smallpox, the highly contagious and often fatal scourge that disfigured or killed millions of people, especially during the Middle Ages. Zoster is the Greek word for " girdle " ; shingles often produces a girdle of blisters or lesions around the waist. This striking pattern also gives the disease its common name: the word shingles comes from cingulum, the Latin word for belt or girdle. Guest guest
, what is ASN Maxam's BSAid? Is this over the counter or where do you buy it? I'd like to know more about it so I can add it to my list in case I may need it in the future. Thanks, Sue R. The best (nips it in the bud pronto) was ASN Maxam's BSAid. Guest guest
I used to use straight glycerin. Home-made Lugol's iodine w/ salt water worked better. The best (nips it in the bud pronto) was ASN Maxam's BSAid. Spray on for a few days. When it came on strong I'd spray it many times a day for the first day. You kind of play it by ear. Guest guest
Hurry, hurry, hurry to doctor, get in as early as possible. Treating Shingles within 48 to 72 hours is critical. If this ever happens again, try going to one of those emergency care centers that are open 24/7. Here they are called Urgent Care Centers. > > > I might have shingles. I'm seeing the doc. tomorrow. Guest guest
The doc's not 100% sure, but gave Valtrex. With MCS I'm afraid to take it. http://www.rxlist.com/valtrex-drug.htm valacyclovir hydrochloride equivalent to 500 mg or 1 gram valacyclovir, inactive ingred: carnauba wax, colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, FD & C Blue No. 2 Lake, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, povidone, and titanium dioxide. caplets are printed with edible white ink. Guest guest
Kathy, How are you feeling today? I took Valtrex within 72 hours 3 years ago, on first symptoms and I have not had relapse. Could you try half a tablet one time to see and then try whole one with lots of water, during daytime, so if there is a problem, someone could take you to hospital. Not getting rid of Shingles promptly can lead to a lifetime of problems from them. I have had Lysine recommended for all sorts of diseases caused by similar virus. > > > The wax along scares me. Guest guest
Sue, if you or Kathy, try this product, please let us know what you think. Always good to know about things like this and we don't know who has done the 'customer reviews' that are listed next to product. Guest guest
I don't like prescription drugs either but that's all that much research is being done on, so leaves fewer choices than there should be. I sure didn't mean to talk you into it but if it is Shingles Valtex has been proven effective but it says effectiveness diminishes with time, so...? > > I caved in & tried it. Guest guest
Oh, no. You didn't talk me into. I felt I had to give it a try. If it takes it away I won't complain. I'd rather go natural, but know we need an Rx' sometimes. Kathy From: barb b w <barb1283@...> Subject: [] Re: Shingles?
