Guest guest
Let me know what you find out, my son's has progressively continued to decline, most recently down to 8....he has Shoemaker's dreaded genotype (multisusceptible gene and low MSH gene). My son's has shown a steady decline, no fluctuating up and down... Thanks, sue >I just had this checked by a new Dr and it has gone up since it was >first tested in 2006... it is now a 26. >
Guest guest
I was only tested once and my MSH was 8 also. I would like to have it retested. Is 26 an improvement over what it was before? > > Let me know what you find out, my son's has progressively continued to > decline, most recently down to 8....he has Shoemaker's dreaded genotype > (multisusceptible gene and low MSH gene). Guest guest
8 is very low, 26 would be better, can't remember what the normal range is. sue >I was only tested once and my MSH was 8 also. Guest guest
yes, it has improved... it was either an 8 before or .8 something very very low.. I will have to pull out those previous labs tomorrow and check.. I have the chronic lyme and multisuseptable genes > > > > Let me know what you find out, my son's has progressively continued to > > decline, most recently down to 8....he has Shoemaker's dreaded genotype > > (multisusceptible gene and low MSH gene). Guest guest
There is a few of us here who got an 8, which was the lowest Dr Shoe had gotten back on those tests at the time of my test. I'd love to get mine retested. Can you share how much test cost you? When I took it, my insurance picked up the cost, 2005, but since then, it reclassified the test as a 'research', not a medical necesssary and won't pay for it. > > yes, it has improved... it was either an 8 before or .8 something very very low.. Guest guest
what have you been doing since originally measured to improve your health? and do you feel any better now that your MSH has risen? If you were in pain has your pain sensitivity declined? more energy? better sleep and sleep at night? better digestion? etc. thanks, sue >yes, it has improved... it was either an 8 before or .8 something very >very low.. Guest guest
I wanted to apologize I have not included myself in this thread. I will have to go back and read these posts because I have forgotten so much of this while I have been trying to deal with the legal side of this stuff and some other things. It appears someone might have had some luck getting MSH back on track. My first question (if not already answered) is if this person had their C4a tested as well. Last checked that was the worst problem at the time and I suspect might still be in my bloodwork. Did any of the other levels get better? I will go back and do some reading but again, I am sorry I have been so vacant. I have been really frustrated with all this lately. Guest guest
I checked my previous MSH results and they were < 8 so not even an 8 like i thought. Sue- I am better than I once was, but not sure what has gotten me to this place. I was on thyroid meds for a few years. I gained weight in 07 which I really needed to do, but then lost it all again a year later. treated with antivirals, antibiotics, catsclaw. I really cannot pinpoint anything that I have done that would have the MSH rise. > > I just had this checked by a new Dr and it has gone up since it was first tested in 2006... it is now a 26. > > Just curious what would cause this to rise? I am happy that it has..but just trying to figure out if mold is my issue or if lyme is more an issue. > > or if the endocrinologist I saw a few years back that said hormone levles fluctuate so much that blood work can change from moment to moment. > > Anyone that has seen Dr Shoemaker know his thoughts on this? >
Guest guest
Actually mine were <8 also. There are a couple other people here with same score. I think that is the lowest the test goes. > > I checked my previous MSH results and they were < 8 so not even an 8 like i thought. > > Sue- > I am better than I once was, but not sure what has gotten me to this place. > > I was on thyroid meds for a few years. Guest guest
thanks, glad to hear it has risen for you, even though you don't know why! sue >I checked my previous MSH results and they were < 8 so not even an 8 >like i thought. > >Sue- >I am better than I once was, but not sure what has gotten me to this place. > >I was on thyroid meds for a few years. Guest guest
Im glad it has too- just wish I knew why, maybe something not even related to mold or lyme possibly? has anyone had their MSH checked again? > > thanks, glad to hear it has risen for you, even though you don't know > why! sue > > >I checked my previous MSH results and they were < 8 so not even an 8 > >like i thought. > >
