Guest guest
Fey, I think there are people on this site who can answer about any question you might have on sprouting and most on gardening as there is a master gardener on here and one who grows all her own food through sprouting and gardening, and has her own cows and maybe chickens. Some are vegetarian, some vary their diet and some are vegan. We share successes and failures in sprouting and ask for advice. Some of us are very short-time sprouters and others have been sprouting for years and years. There is not usually a presentation but if someone tried something that worked well, they share the information. If they have something that went wrong, they share that and all pitch in to make suggestions to try. Some experiment with different things. There are people here who make almond nut milk and coconut milk themselves and share that information or send a link to a video. There are people who do green smoothies and fried sprout fritters, etc. I bought a solar oven through one connection for emergency purposes or to save on electric. Some are dehydrating.  What is your interest? Tell us your experience in sprouting or tell us your questions or what you want to try and someone on here will help you. Sure have helped me. We have also looked at vertical plantings and hydroponics as well. From info on here I started several Aerogardens to raise lettuces and herbs and also planted flowers and just got my indoor tomatoes in today. I have started some seedings that will eventually go outside. I am in FL so we have a wet and dry season not spring/summer/fall/winter. Our fall season is winter and time to plant. People on here can tell you the best temperature for the house for sprouting or for growing veggies. They can recommend spouters and other helpful appliances including OXO salad spinner for sprouts and veggies.  Teach us or let us help you. Welcome aboard. Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, July 2, 2012 11:25 PM Subject: Re: What's the Point of this Group?  Fey -- It's the nature of internet groups, forums, and e-mail lists, especially lower-volume ones, that some related, non-related, and personal chatter gets woven in. It keeps people interested and available and lets them " get to know " each other. For contrast, tech forums tend to discourage this; they tend to be nasty places where " RTFM! " is a common response to questions and personal attacks are common. Posters cycle in briefly and leave after they get their answer and there is little " community " . I'm guessing that you probably know all this. You're welcome to jump in anytime with a sprouting question.
