Guest guest
One problem is that they didn't just teach the book and what happened or for enjoyment but they dug into little things that may have been the point of the author or maybe not. Who decides? I did okay but I sure didn't see some of the things the teacher said was there, but I found I liked Shakespeare. Had slow spots but was interesting. Couldn't enjoy it though because of how they taught it. Might have been right, but just not like it was just reading the book for enjoyment. I wasn't bored by a lot of it, I liked literature a lot, but some of it was deadening even to me. You sure nailed it on boring English classes. Too bad the titanic struggles of good v evil with real superheroes in the Bible can't be used. I was tortured in English class with BOTH The House of the Seven Gables and Grey's Elegy in spite of a plethora of really great liteeature acceptable to secular institutions. Why do they do that?
