Guest guest
I'll be watching any responses too. I've looked for couples counseling, and found nothing. My social worker friend spent two weeks trying anything geared towards adults (over 21), who do not live at home with parents and need " care " . She found nothing specific for Asperger. If you are an adult who can do Activities of Daily Living, have enough brains to know that one must pay bills, and have had a job, you are out of luck. The only saving grace is my husband has no college degree. He might be able to get some job training. If he had a college degree, nothing. It seems all adult Aspie issues are punted to the Mental Health realm, and all want to just medicate. Jay was diagnosed 2 years ago, after a full bore meltdown at work. We paid out of pocket to get a true diagnosis ($3K), but it seems all the Autism therapists in my area either work with children or are private pay only. We can't afford $400/month therapy bill on a disability check. Nan SE Michigan
