Guest guest
Just for the record, I much prefer the CB method, it is much faster, simpler with much less fuss and bother, does not require bottling, second ferments or anything else. Except for the first time around I do not have to wait a week to 10 days. My brews are finished in 24 hrs or less depending on how much was left in the tank. This new brew is finally finished and is fizzy and a little frothy right from the start. I normally had to wait til the 3rd or 4th brew for this to appear so I am a very happy camper. Thanks again for your prompt response and support. My first CB was in nothing but a standard sun tea jar, back in the days when they were still made of glass and had a reasonable spigot on them. The glass ones we find around here now have a terrible unusable spigot. The plastic ones have a good spigot. Am thinking of buying one of each and reversing the spigots. At that time the 1 gallon jug wasn't quite enuf so soon went looking for larger containers. Over the years I have tried at least one each of every type container I could find, glass, ceramic and even a 5 gallon plastic bucket( food grade plastic). They all worked, but being curious I prefer the glass since you can see exactly what is happening at a glance and do not have to disturb the scoby to do so. ________________________________ To: original_kombucha Sent: Tuesday, 7 August 2012, 7:20 Subject: Re: Heads up, all you newbies Fantastic post, !
