My Neuroliminal Training CD's solve these problems.  I like the metaphor of a car running 100 MPH.  My therapies slow the car over time by slowly changing brain waves, and removing toxic minerals.  And, it's guaranteed to show noticeably improvement within 60 days, or return it for refund.

With all due respect if you read my email you would see I am not selling anything or asking for anything. I was looking for like minded people who believe that we need to educate others on the signs and symptoms of autism. I am a serious person and a mother of an autistic son. This is not a joke to me. If I offended you I apologize but i can see we are not on the same page concerning awareness and i will not contact you again. But i ask that you do not judge me unless you have read my story. If you took a moment to read my post you would not have sent me this very rude and abrupt email even if you were not interested . Hmmm.....I had not read or responded before...so, I wanted to see what you were so upset about. I just read your website. Looks like it is something you are looking to sell. "Money back guarantee" tells me whatever this is...it is certainly for sale!?!? I am not surprised at all that some were upset. Yes, I am the moderator.  It would be good if there was more than

one, but until the owner turns up and appoints another one, I am it.

This group is about support and awareness.  It is

also a good place for those doing research to ask for help.  We all

complain about lack of services, but the only way we will get those

services is if there is sufficient research to demonstrate a need.

We know autism should be a top priority, but those with control of

resources and funding need to be convinced, and whether we like it

or not, they will listen to professionals more than to parents.

There are also so many unanswered questions regarding autism that

research is needed to find the answers.

I am not sure why a post saying 'X offers a service that could help'

is received with gratitude, but one saying 'I offer a service that

might help' causes so much offense.  Dr Bate rarely posts, and no

one is obliged to buy anything from him if they don't want to.  Nor

does anyone need to read his website.  There are many professionals

who will quite happily charge you $1-200 to provide the same

information - and in most cases insurance will subsidise your cost.

Neurotherapy is widely recognised as a treatment for both AS and

ADHD, so Dr Bate is not offering something that the professional

world sees as strange.  I saw my psychologist this morning and he

urged me to give serious consideration to neurotherapy.  It doesn't

work for everyone, but so far nothing has been proven to work for

everyone.  Other people on here offer services you are also free to

follow up with or ignore.

I try to keep posts offering services to a minimum - and there is a

folder on our homepage where professionals can post a list of what

they offer - but it seems silly in a group where we regulatory ask

'who can I see for this or that' to ban posts saying 'I offer that

service'.  I have asked people to only post an initial post saying

what they offer, or to post in reply to a request.  Most of the time

that is happening now.  I also only approve posts asking for

volunteers for research if I believe it is applicable to this group

- and some of it isn't.  No one who posts for volunteers for

research or who offers professional services  is un-moderated unless

they have demonstrated over time that they will post responsibly.

While some people see this list as being only for parents to support

each other, the home page says it is "for parents and caregivers of

kids with autism and aspergers, and any other disability" and

"Professionals are welcome as well".  The purpose is "to share

stories, ideas, treatments, therapies, advice and support".  I see

an occasional post from those offering services and therapies as

fitting in with that.

In future, rather than having long debates over this issue (or any

other management issue) in the group, if anyone has a problem I

would appreciate them emailing me first.  Any email sent to:

autism-aspergers-owner will go to the owner [when

her account stops bouncing] and to me.

First, let me say that my question about if we have a moderator was a face value question. I was not sure if we had one where we could bring concerns. Now I do, and I have an email address as well. This is good information. I may never use it, but I have that info at hand, should I need to.Second, An attempt to sell directly from the person who owns/sells a product or service comes across suspicious because it is a common marketing technique. For professionals to ask questions or get advice, absolutely. Otherwise, I would not expect a professional touting a service to show up at my monthly support meetings . It just doesn't feel sincere. It feels like a marketing avenue rather than an attempt attempt at promotion of a product, not an assistance. This site DOES require payment for the

product/service. I was not trying to be insulting. As for questionnaires, I have filled out quite a few myself already, and more keep coming. It is hard to want to continue, because it can make my feel like a guinea pig, not a parent looking for support from their community. I very rarely post myself, only when someone is looking for support or answers and I actually have a definitive answer. If I am correct, this isn't this poster's first post about a product or service. That is where my issue lies. At a certain point it becomes less about helping and more about promoting. Either way, I would not have made a big deal about it on here. That's why I asked if we have a mod.I took an Ambien and still can't sleep. My apologies if this is disjointed or hard to understand. I suppose this like posting while drunk. I hope you understand where I was coming

from.Thanks To: "autism-aspergers " <autism-aspergers > Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2012 9:32 PM Subject: Re: Re: Help and Advice

I agree with .

We are all asking for help here. How else do you expect to get it but from

people who know the field and if they have to talk about their " company " or

" business " to get the point across, then that is what we need to hear. Yes, I

take advice from other parents, but how many times have you gotten wrong advice

or just someone's " opinion " and they really don't know the correct answer. I

don't know how many stories I have heard about the autism-insurance coverage and

it's all different. I decided to go to the AAoM and sign up for the Webinar

Workshop to find out the info I really need.

So for example, I advertised my " Fundraising For a Personal Cause " book on here

because I became and expert in the field because I had to do it for my family

(because we don't qualify for any assistance) and I took 1-year to research the

info in which most people never think of for fundraisers. So I want others to

know about what I did so that it can help them. I am selling it, not giving it

away for free because I feel I did all the work and I deserve it. I don't see

anything wrong with trying to share my work. I am very proud of myself for

doing it and worked really hard at it. Many people tell me that a book like this

is needed.

So don't you want to get your info from people who know what they are talking

about? Sometimes you have to pay for that service. And I know that I have

considered buying Dr. Bate CD's because I am going through therapy with my son

right now for ADD and our insurance only covers 50% of services and we only get

20 visits per year. So I need more.

Thanks for listening

SO when i saw all these post in my email i thought this is not for me.I only now understand based on your email that there was someone trying to sell something that sent parents in a tizzy. I thank you and hope I dont receive that type of response to what I presented. which as you read is simply all of us coming outof our safety box and telling someone new about what autism really is. hoping to have apleasant experience, there

Finally a question and thanks for asking. I have no idea who Dr. Bates is and I took some offense (not knowing their was a Dr. bates) at the responses I was getting because i have nothing to sell, i ask for no contributions everything I do concerning autism is free including the workshops i have done in churches , police precinct , community organizations health fairs etc. My twitter account and fb page is all about autism. So I hope everyone would read my post properly and know i was just trying to unite with those that understand our plight to make this campaign successful. Awareness is still lacking and we should not grow weary in telling folks (new folks about ASD) thank you so much for reaching out to me it was becoming discouraging. Hope to be an active

Thanks again I was bombarded by all the negative responses and about selling when I knew my post said nothing about selling . I thank you for this response and for the assurance that I am in the right place. If my responses offended I to apologize but everything came so quickly I wondered if I was in the wrong in place. This is in reply to several of the email responses.

, I think your book is a good idea for

families. Our family falls through the cracks. We make too much for assistance

but not enough to afford the help.

Keisha, I did not direct anything to you, I had not

seen your email until this afternoon. I actually think what you’re doing is

great and I scanned your site and intend to read more, clearly you have done

some homework! Thank you for compiling this information. What I didn’t appreciate

was the high horse comment, I just wish you would have read the email subject

line before blasting away. It wasn’t fair.

I did not expect such a response from asking Dr. Bate

to not sell me something. Let me explain why I replied what I replied to him. I

feel the only thing Dr. Bate does is promote his products. I feel his approach is

gimmicky….. If it’s too good to be true it probably is….. sort of thing.

1)

I did give him the benefit of the doubt and

looked at his site (a long time ago and again recently). He has amazing claims

from improving autism, enhancing breasts and possibly preventing death in an anaphylactic

reaction and a whole lot more when you use his techniques. What a resume! (yes

that is sarcasm)

2)

I could not find his credentials, I

apologize if they are there and I didn’t see it. I saw he worked for RCA and

Philco but he never mentioned his medical schooling or training? I would think

knowing a medical school he attended and where he trained is more important

than knowing he worked for Philco or RCA? What’s the relevance of knowing he

worked for two electronic companies? Wouldn’t

you want to know his medical background? I also felt he played on some guilt

parents feel for medicating their child. At this time I may not be into medicating

my child however there are some kids who undeniably benefit from medication,

mine may need in the future. Parents should not be shamed for their decisions.

3)

I

feel it is easy to prey on people who are so desperate for help and answers to fall

for his claims and few testimonials. I know many parents who are so desperate

they will try anything at any expense.

So many of us already know the financial repercussions of autism.

4)

His claim to having a ton of “proof†(on autism) wasn’t sufficient in my opinion

since his site mentions two books with a combined total of 14 pages. If there

is more “proof†to his claims that I missed I apologize.

5)

Isn’t it dangerous to try something without

the supervision of a Doctor, as in one you physically see and are monitored by

in person?

So there you have it, those are my feelings and why I

asked him not to try to sell me something. To: autism-aspergers Sent: Friday, July 20, 2012 7:41 AM Subject: Re: Help and Advice

I agree with .

We are all asking for help here. How else do you expect to get it but from people who know the field and if they have to talk about their "company" or "business" to get the point across, then that is what we need to hear. Yes, I take advice from other parents, but how many times have you gotten wrong advice or just someone's "opinion" and they really don't know the correct answer. I don't know how many stories I have heard about the autism-insurance coverage and it's all different. I decided to go to the AAoM and sign up for the Webinar Workshop to find out the info I really need.

So for example, I advertised my "Fundraising For a Personal Cause" book on here because I became and expert in the field because I had to do it for my family (because we don't qualify for any assistance) and I took 1-year to research the info in which most people never think of for fundraisers. So I want others to know about what I did so that it can help them. I am selling it, not giving it away for free because I feel I did all the work and I deserve it. I don't see anything wrong with trying to share my work. I am very proud of myself for doing it and worked really hard at it. Many people tell me that a book like this is needed.

So don't you want to get your info from people who know what they are talking about? Sometimes you have to pay for that service. And I know that I have considered buying Dr. Bate CD's because I am going through therapy with my son right now for ADD and our insurance only covers 50% of services and we only get 20 visits per year. So I need more.

Thanks for listening

and others,

Thank you for the kind words.  I have " annoyed " many parents of autistic

kids because I used the term " normalized " in describing what my Neuroliminal Training does, and some of these parents seem to  prefer to

think of their child as " normal " , but different.  The facts are simple.  These kids are not " normal " , but have development problems with

their brain.  Neurotherapy in the form of Neurofeedback aka EEG biofeedback has been used for about 50 years in solving such problems.

In 2000, I became an " expert " in this therapy, but because it is so expensive using " doctors " services, I started a leasing and selling service for the electronic equipment .   Any person with even average intelligence can easily learn how to operate this equipment, and in actual fact most equipment is operated by the secretary, but the charge is often upwards of $200 per half hour.

In 2004, I found a method of doing the same brain wave changing as NFB provides, and with volunteer testing proved that it works.  And, even better, it only costs a fraction of the cost of NFB, because no " doctor time " or expensive equipment is required.  I quit my profitable leasing and selling of that equipment.

In 2006, I tested an improved version, that both raised the SMR brain wave and lowered the Theta brain wave amplitudes on autistic  children, and proved that this therapy was just as effective as NFB.  Since then, I

have improved this particular CD several times.  The success rate has become so good in that time that I offered a money back guarantee if " noticeable improvement " was not seen in any autistic child.  My return rate has been around 1% since.  There is no person or company working in

this field to my knowledge that offers such a guarantee.

Now, as to my education and knowledge.  I happen to have an IQ of 148 (measured by Mensa), which is above the " genius " level.  I have been studying psychology since I was 21 and got hypnotized for severe dental phobia.  It was my primary " hobby " , and I was awarded a Masters degree by Columbia Pacific University in 1979 based on that knowledge plus an oral examination.  My PhD was awarded in 1980 by the same University on the writing of my PhD  thesis on the testing of hypnosis and different results by different researchers with different ideas.  I had a pro bono

schizophrenic young woman that same year, and was able to cure her schizophrenia by using Orthomolecular Therapy (much to my surprise and delight).

In 2007, I started to develop a 4 part therapy that solved most mental problems.  It involves getting rid of toxic minerals such as mercury and

aluminum and copper, changing the brain waves as described above, and solving the twin problems of nutrition and digestion caused by the autism or depression or schizophrenia.   That free lengthy article has been modified and improved over the years since.  It is free to download

at http://drbate.com/content/integrated.shtml.

I also offer a free article for parents about the various expensive therapies found at seminars and shows, what they are, how much they cost, and how effective they are in general.  That article is at http://drbate.com/content./alternateTherapies.shtml

I also give away different free psychological tests that can be done at home at  http://drbate.com/content/testing_diagnostics.shtml

The only thing I sell are my NT CD's.  I " give away " my 30+ years as an orthomolecular psychologist knowledge in about 100 free web pages on my web site.

I have been called a " quack " by many MD's, but since every important advance in medicine has been made by someone who was called a quack by his/her contemporaries, that's a compliment - I'm in the company of Semmelweiss, Lister, Curie, up to Linus ing, Jonas Salk, and Carl Pfeiffer.  I have made no secret that I despise Big Pharma and the FDA which does not protect the public, but Big Pharma.  has a lot of money to spread false information about me and others who are involved in " Alternate Health "

That's my story.  I've made a lot of very powerful and very rich enemies, and they have spread lies about me on the web.  There are also a

lot of fair people on this site, and I'll leave it to you to judge who's right and wrong here.

I'd like to weigh in on this discussion being on both sides of the coin. I

really don't understand listservs that ban advertisement of a product designed

for our kids. How else will you learn about things that are helpful? And

especially when you have a moderator who can look at each post individually to

see the merit of the product or service. Through the years, I have offered

parents access to my web classes that I teach professionals in my field on

technology and autism (computer-based intervention, iPad etc). I never

understood why some listservs refused to post them. They never cost much and the

information is quite valuable. Most recently, I wrote a book which deals with

the future of adults on the spectrum. For some reason,on certain listservs, I am

able to list the link as part of my signature (see bottom), but I can't post it

in the body of the text.

I don't know about you, but as a parent of a son with autism, I want access to

ALL the information I can get. I think that I have the ability to weed through

what I want to investigate and what I don't. I don't think I want someone else

telling me that something that costs money is not valuable information for me to

know.
