Guest guest
This happened to him right after the mold exposure. It wasn't medicine induced. Loosing REM sleep is the deep stage where your body get actual rest recovery. You can be sleeping and you have no REM sleep. The exhaustion is always there due to the loss of deep restful sleep stage. Some medicines may suppress REM. Also people who are severely depressed don't have REM sleep frequently. Depends on their reaction to depression. If they sleep alot, they have excessive REM; if they have trouble sleeping, it's usually due waking up at the beginning of REM and therefore not having it. WOW, REALLY APPRECIATED THIS. Distraction is a problem for me too, but also what you said about watching lips move. All my life I have easily become mesmerized by movement. Lips moving, hands gesturing or holding something or fiddling with something or whatever. Also when I watch TV and movies, my brain can get so occupied with all the moving things and become so fascinated by how people move or do things that I don't hear what is being said. I miss a lot of what people say when they are talking to me because my brain gets sidetracked away by movement or by other thoughts. Focusing and paying attention to what people say is often challenging. anita
