Guest guest
Hi Surella, When I read your statement: " ...my mold sensitivity has exploded lately " , an alarm bell started ringing in my brain. I assumed that you had read the following words which appear on Doctor Shrader's web site, and that you are no longer living or working in a moldy environment. The following words are copied from Doctor Shrader's Web Site: " When I see a patient who has been exposed to molds, treatment will vary, often depending on the magnitude of the problem. The first and foremost thing patients must do is remove themselves from the moldy environment! Sometimes this presents a difficult problem, especially if the environment is the patient's home. " http://www.drshrader.com/MoldExposure.htm So, I would like to share with you, and all my " fans " in this group, a discovery which I made about 2 months ago. " MOLDIES ARE MOLDY " . I had been asked by a mutual friend, to speak with a husband and wife, living in Brooklyn, where I live. After many months of consulting with doctors, and getting every test available, they had come to the inevitable conclusion that they had to either move out of their moldy home permanently, or move out, temporarily, to allow for an extensive, expensive, " remediation' to take place, in their absence. Only the wife was a " mold-reactor " . The husband was a " normal human " . I offered to meet with them, face-to-face. So, in the " church " of the Parkway Diner, in Brooklyn, during a meal, I got onto my " pulpit " and started preaching the gospel of " TOTAL [extreme] mold avoidance " . I showed them a photo of my father's tombstone, as I explained how mold exposure had killed my father. My sermon was entitled: " For God's sake, don't ever return to your moldy home. " Afterwards, feeling full of the spirit of having done " God's work " , I went across the street, and began shopping in the supermarket. Before I even made it to the check-out line, I began feeling strange sensations that I had not felt in 3 or 4 years, since my last mold-exposure reaction. By the following morning, when I awoke, and tried to stand up, I discovered that, during the night, someone must have put my bed onto a merry-go-round, as my bedroom was " spinning " . So, I said " SH-T, I'm having a mold-exposure reaction. " At which point I thought " THE MOLDIES WERE MOLDY! " " Moldies is a term that I, and others, use as a short-hand description of " mold-sufferers " . The two lovely people, who I had spent only a single hour with, the previous night, had wiped out years of recovery, and sent me back to being a mold-sufferer, again. My mold-exposure reactions lasted 3 days (72 hours). Now, I admit that my discovery is not on the same level as " E equals M. C. squared " [Einstein], but for someone who has just posted : " ...my mold sensitivity has exploded lately " , they might want to consider the possibility that the worsening of their health could be attributable to exposure to OTHER people who are still living in, or working in, a moldy environment, such as a husband, boyfriend, relative, child, pet etc. This other person [though they themselves are a NON-reactor to mold], might even be returning periodically to the original moldy home that YOU used to live in, for purposes of cleaning or remediation. Then, these people are visiting with, living with, or sleeping with you. You might be a victim of " SECOND-HAND MOLD " , in exactly the same way that we are all victims of " second-hand smoke " , from smokers. So, you heard it here first. " MOLDIES ARE MOLDY " . " Human beings " should be added to the list of sources of " mold-exposure " . God Bless, Joe .................................................................................\ ........... LDA Therapy for mold Posted by: " surellabaer " surellabaer@... surellabaer Wed Oct 27, 2010 8:16 am (PDT) I am going to start Low Dose Antigen therapy next month to fight my mold sensitivities. Anyone have any experience with this? It was created by a Dr. Shrader (he has a good website) and my new doctor (whom I love so far-he's very knowledgeable about MCS)thinks it would work for me. I'm kind of desperate so I'm taking what might be a very expensive shot at it but my mold sensitivity has exploded lately. Thanks, Surella
