Guest guest
Alot of people focus on Stachy but Aspergillus is responsible for alot of serious illnesses and is much more commonly found contaminate in wet building situations and then of course as the experts here have pointed out , the assoc bacteria and other things so I wouldn't focus on Stachy. There is a group just for people made ill by aspergillus, it causes so many health problems. > > Stachy is of most concern. i dont know how contaminated or if at all, but it seems a little is enough.. Guest guest
Robin, you say you fell better sence the remediation, how much better, do you think that maybe with proper medical help and maybe CSM, you might be able to live in your home? I know you cant really answer these questions, neither can anyone here. the thing is, is that some do, with medical help,CSM, and good remediation return to their homes. and by moveing, you always run the risk of possably ending up in a home worse than the home you left. I wouldn't even be posting this if you hadn't said you were felling better. have you had any medical help? for you and your kids? are they also felling better sence the remediation? I dont know what your outside invironment is like but if it's fairly clean air, like for example some large cities, high traffic areas, smog, pollution, ect might not be so great outside. but if your air outside is desent, do you still get relief from your symptoms when you leave your home? have you removed other things from your house that could still be aggervateing your symptoms, like carpet fresh, scented candles, purfumes, ect.? have you aired out your home good? changed ac filters after remediation? things like that could make a difference. and sometimes just getting everything cleaned in your home makes alot of difference. I'm just wondering, I have no idea how bad your problem was and how well it was remediated. but at the same time, I know that some people can just scare the crap out of others about this and I hope that hasn't scared you to the point of maybe moveing when you dont need to. also, I was wondering, you said the bathroom was upstairs, do you fell worse now ,after the remediation, when you go up there? I mean, can you walk into the bathroom now without a increase in symptoms? or increased severity of symptoms? sorry if you already covered some of this and I messed it. just wondering. > > Stachy is of most concern. i dont know how contaminated or if at all, but it seems a little is enough.. Guest guest
Do you have the link to the aspergillus group? We didnit have high aspergillus measures.. at least in the circulating air. But my parents did and have lung issues now. Ive been trying to warn them. They did get an inspection and remediation and spores are into " safe " range which i tol them is not safe for them... get rid of clothes, furniture, etc.. they are having another inspection because I am pushing it.. I cannot beleive all these mold issues. That said.. stachy is an issue for us. But I am doing a mycotoxin test with real time lab to get a better look. Thanks, barb Robin > > Alot of people focus on Stachy but Aspergillus is responsible for alot of serious illnesses and is much more commonly found contaminate in wet building situations and then of course as the experts here have pointed out , the assoc bacteria and other things so I wouldn't focus on Stachy. Guest guest
I am having a flare up of neuro symptoms after I cleaned out the laundry room. Very scary. These insane cluster bomb feelings al over my body are back that i though i took care of with glutathioone and b12.. brain fog.. memory dropping out... so Im not convinced it is safe esp since stachy was found in air in LR and thoough at low levels.. the more info i get the more I have to get out and see if that helps and do so as clean as I can. These were symptoms were improving and I have last month been able to get off the sofa more and do more (relatively speaking) We see an alternative MD who is willing to help any way he can to detox mold toxins and is willing to take info from me and work together.. feel very good about that. Smart man. Ive been treated for lyme and babesia on and off by anther MD who is also wonderful and ha always respected the fact that my body reacts differently to abx.. we have walked a careful road with this and I ahve used herbs that are also antifungal most of the time. I am fortunate beyond beleif that my father invested in a realestate development deal and has a house just finishing up.. floors in upstairs and we can move in. Just requires moving several states away but perfect transitional place, family support.. then he can sell it when we are done.. Given this housing break esp I dont think I can pass this opportnity up to give it a go. Esp since the neuro symptoms came back right after cleaning laundry room.. I cant still keep my house clean even though i say I am doing better.. thats like comparing functioning at 30% with functioning at 45%. I am determined to do this at this point. Just need to know what few items we have determined are special how to save them (and keep far away from new house) and possibly how to recover my rife machine.. the case has been exposed to the air constantly and the machine was out for maybe a week at one point. It is a very good machine and can kill fungus though i woudl ont trust it to clean this house! its a resonant light perl. Guest guest
:-( Thanks sue.. I am thinking maybe just put them in a plastic container at the moment and get them separated from al lthat is being trashed which is most everything and then deal with how to clean later. We will end up cleaning up forever.. ?? robin > > i've been told get rid of anything stuffed, quilted, etc. i am taking > needlepoint pillows, removing the cushions, washing covers, maybe you > could do something similar w/stuffies..... sue > > > >Stachy is of most concern. i dont know how contaminated or if at all, > >but it seems a little is enough.. Guest guest
So sorry to hear everything you are going through, Robin. I sure hope the move helps your health improve. You'll be in our prayers. What is a rife machine? I've never heard of it. Guest guest
Robin! Whoosh! I am sorry for your experience, but grateful at the same time to hear of your having reactions like these when you clean. I was starting to feel so much better--with glutathione, liver detox, supplements, etc., and now, I'm unable to do much more than occupy the couch. I know a few days ago someone on the site said that we should just read a general article to familiarize ourselves, but as a newcomer to the invasion of this syndrome/illness, I am grateful to hear that others go through this " peak and valley " of energy and attempts to clean our environments and then the collapse again after whatever re-exposure we experience. Many of you have been suffering for years, but for some of us, this challenge is just beginning--and the reality of its " takeover " of lives settling in. Sorry to re-visit what many of you already have addressed. Just grappling and attempting to find a way to live with this... sally ________________________________ From: <maria2sangria@...> Sent: Tue, August 10, 2010 8:48:08 PM Subject: Re: [] Re: Washing Stuffed Animals & Fabrics So sorry to hear everything you are going through, Robin. I sure hope the move helps your health improve. You'll be in our prayers. What is a rife machine? I've never heard of it. Guest guest
Thank you . Here is a rife machine: http://www.resonantlight.com/products/index.htm You can google about the work of Royal Rife and the claims some make for rife machines. Some use them to treat lyme and candida and other conditions and have success. I would hate to lose this machine. Robin > > So sorry to hear everything you are going through, Robin. Guest guest
yep, sounds like the best thing to do. hey, call your dad and see if theres any new garpet that is offgassing chemicals or other chemicals hanging around from the remoldeling. exspecially if it's been shut up tight. he may wantto open windows and get the house aired out before you get there as best he can. you dont want to move into a house with that going on, it well make you very sick. some carpets can be very bad about offgassing and others aren't. > > I am having a flare up of neuro symptoms after I cleaned out the laundry room. Guest guest
robin, yes, i understand, and guess what, in a few years they may not care about saving those stuffies (you may care more than them ), I haven't actually started washing the needlepoint pillows my granny made either, all into storage, that's just what i plan to do w/them at some point..... sue >:-( Thanks sue.. Guest guest
Has anyone here tried this website? www.nontoxic.com They sell a product that removes a lot of the odors in clothes etc. It really does a great job. They also have carbon blankets that remove the odors as well. The lady is quite helpful. cathy > > > > I am having a flare up of neuro symptoms after I cleaned out the laundry room. Very scary. Guest guest
Good idea... They had not layed the carpet upstairs yet so switched to hardwoods. Still will be smells since they are using flooring that is not prefinished... I am very fortunate this house was available. Hope it tests well. Thank you. My concern is cross contaminating it with the dog and our hair.. we arent taking anything else. It will be too hot for the dog outside.. ?? Guest guest
I wonder how long it would take for hair to grow out/fur I mean to regrow if you clipped him short and let him out in a dog house. They have insulated dog houses you can find on the internet. They will eventually shed all their fur and skin, like we do. > > Good idea... Guest guest
Good point about shedding, growing out. She is a huge dog.. part lab, part german shepard. She cannot tolerate heat at all. I dont think she will fare well in alabama heat... ugh. I think I am going to let this one go.. wash her alot, clean alot, air purifiers. mY kids will be touching her, etc.. they love her. Her hair is short but it is a thick thick coat and she sheds a lot. YOu are right about growing fur out.. I have to stop looking at her like she is covered with stachy spores. Stachy is not that air borne for one and when it as found in the air there was not alot of it. She can run out into our woods and get stachy in her coat. Ive got to find some peace with this and move on. If it was my choice, I would not take her but its not all about me even though I am sick. Ill be the take the dog and see what happens experiment I suppose. At least we are not also taking the 4 cats.... Thanks, barb:-) Robin > > I wonder how long it would take for hair to grow out/fur I mean to regrow if you clipped him short and let him out in a dog house.
