Guest guest
Duane, Welcome to the group. It depends one how you grow and what you grow. Are you planning to grow in spouters or on a medium? What kind of sprouts are you going to grow? With most sprouts, the entire sprout is edible, roots and all. ew Sprout questions from someone new to sprouting I've never grown sprouts and am looking for guidance. For instance, how do you harvest the sprouts? Do you take a small scissors and snip them off at ground level? Or do you just pull them out and eat the whole thing, roots and all? Thanks for taking the time and energy to answer my 'beginner' questions (grin). Duane in West Michigan
Guest guest
hi duane in west michigan.....i'd say that the best way to understand how to sprout and how to deal with them is to just start.....first off get some sprout seeds.....soak them overnight.....rinse and drain them twice a day ( morning and evening ).....within a couple of days you'll see them start to " sprout " .....let their little tails grow for a few more days and take a forkfull out and eat them.....heads, tails, everything.....they're like itty bitty salad greens but lots better for you this, to me, is a good way to start.....then, as you learn more you can expand to other types.....i think that everyone has his or her favorites.....i love radish sprouts.....watch some of the videos offered by " sproutpeople " .....you'll learn lots there and then don't forget to come back here to talk to everyone about your adventures.....peace, mary > > I've never grown sprouts and am looking for guidance.
