Guest guest
I grow yellow string and yellow wax beens and the seeds are white. There is one other green bean that I grew once with white seeds but I don't remeber it's name. i prefer Blue Lake or Kentucky green beans. The both have brown seeds. ew Re: beans growing Beans are supposed to grow into pod beans but are white inside for the bean itself. I planted them in a container outside and plan to grow them to the bean stage. When I got them I thought I was getting green beans and pole beans, but they are white beans. I didn't pay enough attention because most were bush beans that I saw. I am going to grow these to full plants. However, I just wondered if the leaves could be eaten as they had several leaves on them. I figure I'll just leave them to grow. Guest guest
My grandfather used to grow purple beans and they were so neat and tasted really good. When cooked the purple bean turned green. It seems it was a Ky blue something. I am sure it was an heirloom. I have seen them but it has been awhile and I didn't see any this year.  The beans I planted looked green on the envelope with the pod but the actual bean is white. Will find out when I grow them and cook them. I am hoping that they do grow to maturity. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2012 12:30 AM Subject: Re: Re: beans growing  I grow yellow string and yellow wax beens and the seeds are white.
