Guest guest
NJ defeats bill pushing flu shots More Info Gov. Christie vetoes limit on healthcare workers A coalition of healthcare workers and advocates won one in New Jersey this week by defeating a bill that would have required healthcare employers to “offer†the flu vaccine to their employees. All employees would have been required to show proof of vaccination or sign a waiver declining. Then they would have been entered into a database and tracked. Employees would have been allowed to take inhaled flu vaccines to satisfy the requirement, even though, as a live virus vaccine, people can actively spread the flu for up to two weeks after taking an inhaled flu vaccine. Governor Christie was persuaded to let the bill expire without his signature. Good work New Jersey.
