Guest guest
It sounds to me like you might have a separate Yahoo account set up (somehow) that is tied to the Windows Live account and only the two groups in question are subscribed through that Yahoo identity. Try logging in using that email address and if you can't figure out the password, use the " forgot my password " link and get a new one. If that's not it, I'm stumped. Sometimes Yahoo gets things messed up. But because they remain free of cost to users, we live with the problems. There are also Yahoo help forums that you can seek help from. -- > Can anyone help with an annoying Yahoo Groups problem I am experiencing? for a few months, since I was hacked and had to change my password and things, now Yahoo has been somehow thinking I want my group mail to go into two different mail boxes. Certain groups have gotten extremely busy lately and so I have taken some measures. > > I have two groups that are doing this to me. The first one I unsubscribed to. The result is, I do not have access anymore to that group. My " membership " is ended, but I still get their individual emails every day in my windows live account and I can reply to any of those posts. So Yahoo cancelled my subscription in the one selected account in my membership. (My Frontier account.) But still send emails to windows live. > > My second desperate try was with another group. I set it to digest. > > Now Yahoo is sending the DIGEST to my Frontier account, but is still sending individual mails to my Windows Live account. > > These are not all of my yahoo groups I am a member of, so I am puzzled why there are no problems with my 4 other groups. I can't figure out why Yahoo even sends any of these to the two different email boxes because I only have one selected in my membership and one is all you can select in the first place. > > Is there anyone who understands why this is happening and what to do? > > Lyn > > > > ------------------------------------ > >
Guest guest
, That sounds like a logical idea. I am not clear on what you mean, tho, by signing in. Sign in to what? I do not need to sign in to the groups. I just access them freely as a member by the link. And it seems that I can only sign in one way to the main yahoo page to get into my mail and things. And I don't use either of the emails in question to sign in on that page. Those are my only two guesses. So what do you mean me to sign into. Guest guest
There are a number of ways of creating an account on Yahoo. One is to use an email address. I was suggesting to go to the home page and click on log in or sign in. My point was that you might have a " ghost " account that is separate from your regular account because you seem to have two separate subscriptions to each of the two groups in question. If it were me I would try logging in with both the email addresses directly to try to discover if there is an inadvertent account, but that's probably a long shot. I think you should go to the Yahoo help forums and ask there and not waste any more time with " maybes " . It's painful enough to have to spend time on this. It can be really hard to get Yahoo glitches straightened out. -- > , > > That sounds like a logical idea. I am not clear on what you mean, tho, by signing in. Sign in to what? Guest guest
I tried logging in to the Yahoo home page with my windows live email address, but it said that the email was not on file. This all happened a few monts ago when I closed one of two Yahoo accounts and reassigned those group emails to go to either my internet provider's email (Frontier) or my windows live account. Most of my other groups are split between the two. It's just these two that did not split. Instead they populate both groups. And I know I would not have used either of these two emails as sign-ons to yahoo. I do agree with you that I have a ghost account. I just don't know how to access it. Guest guest
I guess what I'm saying is, you may not have thought you used either of the two addresses, but somehow a ghost account was created, that's the problem is that it's not what you did, but what happened on Yahoo's end. It has to involve those two adresses one way or another, so detective work would be, try signing on using each of those and asking for help with the password and see what happens. Otherwise, go to the Yahoo help forums, surely they have seen this before. -- > I tried logging in to the Yahoo home page with my windows live email address, but it said that the email was not on file. > > This all happened a few monts ago when I closed one of two Yahoo accounts and reassigned those group emails to go to either my internet provider's email (Frontier) or my windows live account.
