Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I am having a terrible time this year with my son. Zeb is in bed and asleep by 8:30, once in a while 9:00. He is up and down all night but when it's time to get up for school I can't move him. I have put him to bed a few times at 8:00 and it's the same. I am thinking that he may need a sleep study. He is late almost everyday to school. He loves Disney radio so I have even put that station on while I am trying to get him out of bed. I started waking him up earlier to get him out of the house on time, it hasn't helped. He never liked school but that's another issues.Have you tried benedryl just to see if that would help? Guest guest
Debby: What type of melatonin are you using. The tablets are timed release and do not work for Tori. She takes the liquid and it works like a charm. Although she gets up every night to get in with me...she does sleep. Liz Re: hi Hi Debbie, I am having a terrible time this year with my son. Guest guest
Elie has taken 50 mg of Benedryl from the time he was 12 and weighed abut 80 lbs. LEsserer amounts don't work. He takes liquid altho I just saw in the store little melt strips. In PA - Mediaide paid for the quarts of Benedryl that we needed as long as we had a prescription. I used to get 8 bottles at a time! Sara - Choose to make lemonade, not complain about the lemons. > >Reply-To: >To: < > >Subject: Re: hi >Date: Fri, 3 Nov 2006 00:57:04 +0300 > >i give my five year old Childrens Benadryl (5 ml) almost every night and it >works. > > > hi > > > > i joined this wonderful group about 4 months ago even though i havent > > written much everything i have read from all of you has been a great > > help to me its been good to know i am not alone i now have a > > question that i hope you all can help me with ethan is having a > > horrible time with sleep so much so that the school now wants him to > > come in a hour later what i am wondering is are any of you useing any > > sleeping pills with your child we have been useing melatonian but it > > seems not to be helping any more any sugestions will be much > > appreciated thank you debby -ethan 20 > > > > > > > > > > -------------------------------------------------- > > Checkout our homepage for information, bookmarks, and photos >of our kids. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome aboard, looking forward reading what you have to share, please do not hesitate to join in anytime. I am pretty sure you have noticed how many have written and you can relate. It is wonderful to have many to lean on, here on this list to keep our groove going. Especially to have a variety of bag of tricks to apply when one method does not work. This was not available for my son when he was younger but a Blessing to know not to be alone by networking with many across the miles has been a Blessing. The new dx of autism will open doors towards the areas needed as it has for my son, even at an older age, as he was dx at about 13 y/o. Your son is young with the interventions or tools available it will help troubleshoot his specific needs and develop, implement, monitor, a program for your child. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group. It has been a blessing for me. I have learned SO MUCH just by reading the others post on here. I am the Granny to PRECIOUS little twin boys, both have autism. They are Matt and Will. They will be 3 the 30th of August. So you see I am very new to this, but I have learned SO SO MUCH from this group. I may not be a very big help to you but I can promise there are some on here who can. I will be praying for you and Dylan. God Bless, Granny to Matt and Will --------------------------------- Shape Yahoo! in your own image. Join our Network Research Panel today! Guest guest
Hi , I'm also from Phoenix. My son Isaiah also has DS and autism. Like you, I also had doctors and teachers tell me they were sure he didn't have autism. Again like you, it took us a while to get in to see the developmental pediatrician, (Dr. Kessler, he's awesome!). We also got our answer pretty quickly. Haiving the diagnosis , didn't change much at school, but it did explain lots of behaviors. Anyway, it's been two years since the diagnosis, and the teacher still has trouble believing it's autism. Regardless, she enjoys teaching Isaiah, and she says he makes her day. Well, I just wanted to introduce myself and Isaiah. Take care, Avena ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Choose the right car based on your needs. Check out Yahoo! Guest guest
It's nice to hear from you, Dr Kessler is who diagnosed Ethan also! I have heard so many good things about him, and we really liked him. How old is Isaiah? What school district are you in? We are in Deer Valley. Anything experiences or suggestions you have with any aspect of DS/Autism I would be happy to hear! Thanks  Re: Hi Hi , I'm also from Phoenix. My son Isaiah also has DS and autism.
