Guest guest
Well said Dr. Thrasher!! After what I experienced from mold exposure in my little Catholic school (that's STILL open) it's all about the money and Worker's Comp protects the employer NOT the employee!!! So much deceit when it comes to money!!!! Thanks for all you do! Sue The role of the government and its agencies is to keep the people ignorant. The government does not give the people what they want and need, but rather gives the people what the government wants them to know and have. This philosophy also extends into the industrial sectors where the truth is hidden in deceit using such terms as Junk Science to vilify those who diagnose and treat people injured by toxic exposure. Worker's Compensation throughout the united States is a classic example of this deceit. Jack-Dwayne: Thrasher, Ph.D.
Guest guest
Sally, I totally agree with you. Very well said and I too am so grateful for all the wonderful people on this group especially Dr. S, Dr. Thrasher, Carl, Jeff, , Sharon, and all the MANY others that have helped and supported me throughout the years! I wouldn't have made it without this group and some others! >> Thought I'd share a quote I came across the other day from Mother : " If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. " What a lovely thought and mission--to recognize on a very deep level that if even one of our brothers or sisters suffers, so do we all. Conversely, as one of us celebrates, so too can we all find hope and inspiration. If you can't be patient and find yourself frustrated by questions or comments, please at least be kind and realize that each signature on this list represents a human being. Disrespectful comments and sarcasm never help and can cut through the psyche like a blade. Good thoughts to my those of you on this journey, sally

Guest guest
I developed MCS over a 12-year period in a government facility, too. The chief of my dept (an M.D.) would actually scream at me to file for disability. I told her I was going to stay until I was 70 yo just for spite. So she told me I had to see a psychiatrist (thru my HMO) - she wanted to know if I was bipolar, which would give her what she needed to get rid of me.  I worked for 40 yrs, excellent reputation everywhere I worked, rarely missed a day of work until I started with the MCS. Anyway, The psychiatrist said I am not bipolar, that anyone suffering from exposures to asbestos removal, putting in new drywall, painting, and daily cleaning will get irritable, said that I should quit my job if possible.   The only time I got irritable was when I wanted to use my leave time to recover and she gave me a hard time -- I was very, very weak, eyes, mouth & throat burning, even the skin ( & ? muscles on my arms and legs), lungs irritated and I kept coughing.  Personnel asked the other doctors what they thought of my work. They all said I was the best they ever had at my job, fast and accurate, always in a good mood, smiling.  I retired 2 yrs ago-- the replumbing in my wing made me so ill I could not work for more than a few hours after taking a week or more off. So glad I had built up my annual and medical leave to cover it. I thought I would hate being retired but I like it, do what I want when I feel like it. I don't have to wear shoes all day, wear makeup unless I leave the house. If I could find a 'safe' building, I would like to try volunteer work when/if I feel physically able,.  ....Corky I got sick in a government federal building. They refused me workmens comp told me to go home and take my pills. I worked there 16 years. They dont care about us and the whole thing was covered up and no lawyer would touch a FEDERAL CASE!
