MB Comment: Washington State Secretary of Health Selecky

says: ‘vaccine refusal doesn’t appear to be playing a key role in the

growing pertussis burden.’

This week’s CDC MMWR report states 76% of Washington state

pertussis cases were in fully vaccinated individuals. The CDC

also says no fatalities have been reported.

This is clearly a case of vaccine failure, not the result of unvaccinated

individuals spreading pertussis.

The pertussis vaccine is not bactericidal. In other words, the

vaccinated can spread pertussis.

A Washington state vaccinated hospital worker is blamed for exposing

patients to pertussis.

Wake up people – the problem is with vaccines

(

vaccine failure and vaccine

adverse reactions) not with the unvaccinated.

Jul 19, 2012Selecky said most of Washington’s children are

vaccinated, and health officials said vaccine refusal doesn’t appear to

be playing a key role in the growing pertussis burden.

Washington health officials and their collaborators at the CDC profiled

Washington’s outbreak, including details such as the percentages of

lab-confirmed cases and case numbers by age, today in the latest issue of

Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
