Guest guest
I knew what the RM Oysters were and I have heard them called " sweet breads) and always has the " s " on it. and was such a change from what I thought sweet breads would be. I think that is the southern term for them. I am not quite sure what chitlins are but the fried pork skin may smell bad but I sure used to like the taste and so I'm not sure that chitlins are the same thing or not.  know people eat pigs feet but that never appealed to me. I know some eat pigs ears too, on sandwiches. Maybe if they fry them enough they are like the pig skin and we eat those.  My husband was in the ines for about 11 years and there they would BBQ the family pet if someone special came for dinner. They might have a pot bellied pig or a dog. Cats were too greasy and too boney. But they would eat dog and he liked it. It was funny hearing him talk of giving them a warm home - about 350 degrees. Sounds terrible to us. I know here in FL they criticize eating horse but yet what s the difference between that and a cow? We have become far removed from the animals that are considered food. I can understand why some don't eat any meat at all. I always though it was terrible to kill Bambi's mother or father. I have eaten venizen and it tastes good. But I think of being small and bawling my eyes out because Bambi's mother was killed and it was his " mommy " . I had half the people in the theatre crying and all saying, " the poor little thing " as I bawled. We sent my daughter to =her room when we were seeing the Sea turtles race to the sea after being born and with all the birds above. However, we didn't think anything about it when the party were trying to escape before a strm at the south pole and one guy wrote in his journal and then went off into the white wilderness and my daughter started to cry because he was going to die. I had no idea she would even catch onto that. I barely did. He knew he was holding the party back because of his frostbite on his feet so he decided not to slow them down anymore and walked off into the white air. Kids are a lot smarter tan we think and at young ages. Might have seen that before the turtles and knew she couldn't see that. Rocky mountain oysters are no where near sweet breads, however in some places they are cow stomic and others Brains, Mountain oysters are simalar to calf or lamb fries. There fried testicles. Never thought I would eat them eather but I will give things at least one try for the most part, and so I did these, there actually good. What I have given a try and will NEVER again is what we call chidlyns most people call them chitterlings. They taste like the smell.....Gross! Some totally change their language to suit the new. I have a granddaughter who is a missionary in the Atlanta, GA area and I figure she will go back to California with a deep southern accent. She is also learning the cooking thre as well and that will do her well as it is some great food. Food is what I think is nice to try in different areas. But I haven't tried those Rocky Mountain oysters and don't think I intend it. In the south I think they call them sweet breads or something like that. Yet they have all kinds of real sweet breads so looks like they would get confused. We were in one of the Restaurants (with an A Frame). Now don't ask me why I know this (about the A frame but it just came to me, lol) eply via web post | Start a New Topic Messages in this topic (26) Recent Activity: * New Members 11 Visit Your Group Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest • Unsubscribe • Terms of Use ..
