Dear Bridget at Puppy Palace, Enoggera. After the death of my beloved large dog in January, 2012 from what we believe is 'skeletal fluorosis' - I was very miffed indeed to be informed  that I am apparently unable to purchase a pet without being injected with a micro-chip - quite frankly I do find this astonishing and grossly disturbing -  what happened to choice   choice   choice??? this should be an owner's decision and choice - (particularly if a tumour develops they will be up for probably several thousand dollars in vet surgery costs if in fact,  the pet's life can be saved).  This situation is appalling - where are our freedom to choose and our pet's health rights freedom I ask??   I hope someone in Australia will do something about this big stick approach.

I have had dogs and cats all my life - I am 60 years old and never once would I consider micro-chipping them -  I recall many years ago when talk first came up about micro-chipping pets I held back with concern -  I did not have the information then but I felt something would not be right about it.

My concerns were justified and I  attach a pdf file with a small amount of  information I have put together  on  dogs suffering tumours after id chipping for your interest.  This problem has been known for many years and 'experiments' showed this.

All my life I/we have always been careful/responsible -  good escape proof fencing and gates  for all our dogs and never lost a single one.

I would be most appreciative if you would pass this on widely to the organisations you would be affiliated with.

If ever you are speaking to some breeders of the dogs I am interested in - could you

kindly get them to phone me  07 3285 3573          dianedraytonbuckland@...       4 Mia Street, Kallangur,   4503 Queensland  NO MICRO-CHIPPING FOR MY PETS EVER.

Kind regards,   DianeBRIDGET FROM PUPPY PALACE  ENOGGERA BRISBANE WROTE:-

Hi,

By law we have to microchip all pups sold,(if they are not micro chipped we send them home with a voucher), if pup is lost then found and not micro chipped then the customer can get fined for not having it done.

Since we have been doing this we have reunited many people with their missing dogs.

warm regards,
