Guest guest
this is so so interesting.... when seeing dr rea this past spring, we stayed in his " less-toxic " housing which is a marriott building stripped down and configured for his mcs patients. Most the furniture is metal, and he recommends beds made of a metal box spring wrapped w/layers and layers of cotton blankets because you can wash the blankets.....but these ideas were all developed before the age of mega emfs being radiated down on us....now Dr rea has lots of emf sensitive patients, this is the newest enviro illness....but it also just points out our differences, a lot of the extremely chemically sensitive react to wood, i believe that is why he went w/metal frames and at the time not an issue, now there is no safe material that will work for all..... kerry crofton in her book wireless radiation rescue suggests not even having metal bedside lamps, keeping all metal out of the bedroom. i already had the kids on wooden platform beds and more recently have switched to one myself, not quite as springy, but it works.... sue v. >Posted by: Dr. Mercola | August 18 2010 > >http://www.foodconsumer.org/newsite/Non-food/Environment/ >mattress_1808100754.html > >The rate of breast cancer in Western countries is 10 percent higher in >the left breast than in the right. Guest guest
I only have a problem with wood if it's been in a moldy, damp invironment. or offgassing some type of chemical from it. older wood funiture that has been kept dry doesn't bother me at all. not all wood soaks up these smells from WDB environments, hard woods often used in older furniture may be cleanable and saveable. it also depends on the finish though, some finishes might actually absorb and keep the smell longer. more porus woods used now days for most things can be a problem. > > this is so so interesting.... > > when seeing dr rea this past spring, we stayed in his " less-toxic " > housing which is a marriott building stripped down and configured for > his mcs patients.
