Guest guest
Barb can I ask what you were on long term antibiotics for? Btw I think this last round of fungal and bacterial infection turned systematic (the fungal part)--I had symptoms of breast yeast infection that nursing mothers get--extremely extremely painful. Diflucan helped immensely--cleared it up, thank God. Allergy / inflammation symptoms always there but this current battle with infection serms to have been won ( temporarily, I'm sure!). This long term antiB is why I resist treatment for " chronic Lyme. " thankfully dr agrees that until I get out of toxic situation, we wouldn't be able to tell effect of lyme treatment anyway and so are holding off. Thanks for info on oxygen concentrators, have thought of those for headaches. Re: antibiotics: I have been on long term antibiotics and went off of them myself bec feeling so badly. I had trouble w systemic candida and I think it causes it to flare even if I have prev gotten it under control. Difflucan made me feel better and probiotics. Trying to get my gut in shape again. I'm beginning to think even for things they recommend long term antiB which aren't many things but there are some, I think you need to take a break from them and let your own immune system take a crack at whatever is ailing you and let your gut heal again, then if you need to go onto antiB again, so be it. When I first started on the antibiotics a swollen, painful lymph gland cleared up and skin improved in areas; then things leveled off and saw not much improvement. At first when I went off of antibiotic, some flare up in skin and other things that made me feel like I was sliding backward (except for the swollen lymph node. That never came back, so accomplished that), but after a couple of weeks off of antiBs I started to see those things clear up again so I think initially my system missed the antiB I was taking and I slide backward, but after awhile my own immune system started to take up the slack. Now I am about at same level as when I was on antiB even though I am not on them, so I guess I had gotten used to that one and it wasn't doing much anyway except to mess up my gi tract, so trying to do whatever I can to help my own immune system and get my gut back in shape. I might take a wack at it again w antiB, don't know yet. > > As for the Oxygen question I mentioned before in a previous post > that I suffer from chronic face and head pain. Guest guest
The length of the oxygen cylinder will depend on the cylinder size and the setting you put it on. If you call an oxygen company the can give you ranges. Three different anti biotic`s to boot. I feel like hell and can`t seem to get on track even with about 5 days of anti fungal meds. Anti fungal meds usually put me over the edge so I cut the dose in half. I`am hoping my body will eventually get itself back on track on its own but to tell you the truth its a bit scary to feel this badly again. Btw, I need oxygen off and on through out the day for the face and head pain. How long do the metal cylinders last with oxygen? Do you know? Thanks, nne nne
Guest guest
The device is called a regulator. Barb the reason why yours may beep is because some people do stop breathing at night, some people with sleep apnea or a brain REM problem. Or maybe another condition it allerts you the oxygen is not flowing.  http://www.cramerdeckermedical.com/category.php?category_id=4 God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: barb b w <barb1283@...> Sent: Sat, January 15, 2011 11:23:24 PM Subject: [] Re: I have a couple Questions If I May, 1st About Oxygen Therapy,2nd Antibiotics  I only use oxygen occasionally so I have not timed it. I have largest tank I could buy and carry so I wouldn't have to run after oxygen so much. Its aluminum and not heavy. It is not a tank for medical grade oxygen as I could not get a script at the time. I could now but I already have this one, it is for aviator emergency oxygen, a lower grade but for the occasional use I need, it's okay. Guest guest
Did they sell you one of those concentrators that make oxygen out of the air you live in ? The last time I talked to the people at the oxygen place they kept telling me it would not be affordable for me to get a tank so they convinced me to get the concentrator. Hence I ended up with the concetrator issues buy buying one . They all are made of plastic and must have this dangerous chemical output. I need to get rid of it. Its making my face hurt more than it helps. I`ll call her tommorrow..I just dont know how often it will be to have it filled if I use it regularly. But I guess I`ll find out. nne~
Guest guest
The setting has to be on one of the numbers, if it i set to continuos use it will give oxygen all the time.  The setting are on the regulator.  http://www.rehabmart.com/category/Oxygen_Regulators.htm God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: barb b w <barb1283@...> Sent: Sun, January 16, 2011 7:52:14 PM Subject: [] Re: I have a couple Questions If I May, 1st About Oxygen Therapy,2nd Antibiotics  Someone posted some information about this tank a few weeks ago and I found it on Amazon.com. This one has a regulator w it but I don't think that is the same thing I am talking about that I have. My tank has a flow regulator but also I have an extra gadget that only allows oxygen to flow when you 'inhale', has kind of baffles to prevent oxygen to flow unless you inhale: http://www.amazon.com/PORTABLE-OXYGEN-SYSTEM-CYLINDER-REGULATOR/dp/B000JRKNN8/re\ f=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8 & coliid=I3KNNGUF9341N2 & colid=O06B2AWCOJSC This is what I have. You cannot get medical grade oxygen put in to this tank type though as different tanks for different purposes have different snouts on them so you cannot put a different type of oxygen than they are made for. If you scroll down you will see the 'conserving cannulba'. That's what I have and you could put that on any system. It only allows oxygen to flow when you inhale.
