Doctors dismiss me like im crazy.their reasoning is it has been 7 months mold couldnt still be doing it. Before the flooding my children had a genetic disease asthma and a weekened immune system and now them and me are constantly sick. This is their second strep third ear inf and they always have congestion. And during the two wk period after the flood my daughter got staph on her arm Re: [] Sickbuilding re mold when I worked in a mold infested hot basement I was always sick. Guest guest
Jacessa, Ten days of a rather extreme atypical mold and bacteria exposure could definitely do that. I know from personal experience and that of others who have been made ill from bad remediations. Remediators sometimes get sick in less time than that. The good news is, those who are exposed via a " sudden blast " seem to recover faster and fuller than those exposed at lessor amounts over a longer period of time. If it were me, I would keep trying to untease the puzzle and deal with the doctors. In the meantime, I would have my family bathe in diluted white vinegar and wash their hair with it. Its an amazing antifungal. And I would feed them an anti-fungal diet. I would feed them a lot of garlic. _moldiet_ (http://www.mold-survivor.com/dietcopyright.html) Sharon K In a message dated 1/11/2011 4:57:28 P.M. Guest guest
I agree that even a short term exposure can mess you up pretty bad, I do know that it is always a better chance of recovery. it sounds like 7 months ago ,being late spring, early summer is the time of year that a flooding situation along with mold growth could get pretty bad, pretty quick. I'd be interested in hearing more about the situation, were carpets soaked, how bad was the flooding situation, ect. even how bad the smell got in that short time. of corse this was a new growth situation vs. a situation that had been growing for many years so that to me would make a big difference too. plus to me, haveing family members with prior illnesses made them more suseptable to damage. but I also agree with Dr. Thrasher that the bacterial is a big consern here. > > > Jacessa, > > Ten days of a rather extreme atypical mold and bacteria exposure could > definitely do that.
