Dear ,

I only know what I read about carrots and carrot juice. . . I was referred to

Dr Malkmus' website (there are several on the internet), see also

hallelujah diet and he overcame colon cancer. Other than that, I have no

other information on the benefits or if it is deterimental to cancer

prevention. Anyone else, please enlighten me on using carrots or carrot

juice in cancer prevention diets.

Thank you,

Melinda

Dear :

I also found this information which Dr. Lorraine Day had mentioned the

usage of carrot juice. I just cut and paste the below information which was

taken from >> http://wwwessiac-info.org/video.html

Lorraine Day M.D. was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and had a

lumpectomy of a small tumor. But the tumor soon recurred, became very

aggressive and grew rapidly. Her site has very graphic photos of her breast

cancer.

I was quite impressed when I heard the Art Bell radio interview of her,

remembering Dr. Day say that her curative diet included essiac (but nothing

about essiac is mentioned on her site) and huge amounts of carrot juice and

water.

Please make sure your friend is not on any hormonal therapy. Breast

cancer is almost always due to excess estrogen. If she would clean

her diet up, (no meat/dairy with hormones) and use progesterone cream,

she can keep it from being fed by too much estrogen. Read Dr. Lee's

book on Progesterone.

Dear Group,

A friend of a friend of mine who just turned 33 years old just had breast

surgery for cancer and apparently, it has spread to the lymph nodes. Other

than that, that is all I know. Please send me any advice you have and I will

forward this information to her. She has a strong family history and her

grandmother had breast cancer and now her sister also has had it.

As for myself, I am on a preventive diet/regimen and am taking Essiac as

well as apricot seeds and B17 and drinking lots of carrot juice, and am

taking a handful of supplements including Coenzyme Q10. Please send me

advice for my friend's friend. Thanks for your help.

You guys are the best group one can get great advice from. God bless all of

you and may everyone's health and their loved ones because of your knowledge

and belief improve with every inhalation of life.

Dear Beth, I feel the need to reply to your post first today. I have had years of the back of the neck head pain until a neurologist put me on a medication called Neurontin a couple of years ago. My rhumatologist mentioned the inflammation of the nerves many years ago and again a year or so ago. He ask how the neuropathy was doing. I don't have answers if this is caused from Stills, I think it is, but wanted you to know that since taking the Neurontin 900 mg a day, I have only experienced that pain maybe twice in the past three years and before the medication in was relentless and every day since 1993. It is different from the migraines and the neurologist I saw felt they were not connected. Hope this helps any, your friend is thought of with compassion by me. It is a living hell that made me just want to die. Much love to you too, Melt

Help for a friend

Hi Everyone, One of my best friends has had an odd head pain/pressure for almost a year. She has been referred from one Dr. to another over this time and finally last week to a neurologist who did many test on her that should have been done already I think.... They believe that the headaches are being caused by inflammation to the neurons, but the rheumatoid factor came back high as well as the sed rate elevated. So this Dr. feels she really needs to see a rheumy, especially due to family history of autoimmune disorders. My question is, have any of your ever heard of a rheumatic disease where you have as a big symptom this head pain in the back of your head, excessive fatigue, ect.? Beth

You could try directing him to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. It's

pretty allopathic in its approach, but they do use intergrative modalities.

I'm at their conference in Chicago right now, and though they are MD;s, they

seem pretty open-minded about alternative therapies. Hope this helps

Dora,

That's easily fixed. Her Audie should *CLAP* really loud to make sure her RF

Levels are set adequately. I had this happen to me on both conventional and

HiRes. It is not a common problem and it is probably because of her mapping

parameters. After the Audie made the adjustments I no longer had the problem.

Dora,

I am like you...I will go back as soon as I can. When the problem developed the

second time I was on HiRes (the first time I was on MPS) and my Audie was on

maternity leave. The new Audie had never heard of this but she believed me and

called AB to find out how to fix it. It does not happen often but it is easily

fixed. It is completely cleared up. Some of us just have to be a little

demanding with our RF levels I guess... LOL.

By the way I've been following your story. Glad to hear you're doing well! I

still remember the fun we had in Dallas. :-)

Sherry

Hi Sherry

Thanks...I will give my friend your suggestion..by snail mail.I didn't think

this was normal and I figured it could be fixed..If this had happened to me I

would have been back to see my audiologist the next day.It is great to have

these forums..there is always someone that has had the same problem and has had

it " Fixed " .

Hi. First things first, the school needs to do a Functional Behavior

Asssessment (FBA) to figure out why these behaviors are occurring and how the

school team as a whole will be dealing with them consistently..using physical

restraint as a LAST resort. Sending him home, having him come to school for

1/2

a day or asking his mother to be his assistant, are NOT options. If he

hasn't already been evaluated for IEP eligibility, I recommend Mom does that

ASAP

in writing. I would also recommend she contact your local disability law

center and ask for advice on how to proceed. I know here in my state, we have

legal aid (a service that can provide lawyers at a fraction of the cost). You

were right directing her to SPAN but their response doesn't sound

appropriate. She needs to have an advocate and support, especially with the

language

barrier. I am shocked daily at what districts do to non english speaking

families. I am supporting one family currently and the team had mom sign the

last page of the IEP when she signed in as attending the meeting...all before I

got there. Yikes! Let me know the location of this family and I will see

what I can pull up as far as resources. Pam :)

I know that you directed her to SPAN...but here is the information to give

to her again: She should call and ask for Diane Autin, she is the executive

director at SPAN. The school has to complete an evaluation within 60 days of

the written request. Also, they cannot legally recommend medication. If

they are saying that they are accepting the outside neurodevelopmental

evaluation then they need to have an eligibility meeting based on that

evaluation and

if the team is in agreement, then an IEP meeting. If the team is not

agreeing with the outside evaluation, then they need to do their own

evaluations. I

am also including a legal resource for her to contact. If she continues to

have trouble getting answers at SPAN, I know both Diane and Debra and I can

try to facilitate the situation for her. I work for the Parent Information

Center in my state and we are in the same Region. Actually we have a Regional

Conference in two weeks..I'll see them there. Pam :)

Hi Pam,

Thanks for your response. My friend lives in Plainfield, New Jersey.

Unfortunately, she does not have the financial resources to pay for services

that was why I directed her to SPAN.

Her district asked her to take him to a neuro developmental ped who did not

recommend meds as the school would have liked. The doctor is suggesting he get

an aide and that the school do more for him. The mom requested a full

evaluation because he is turning 8 years old and their response was that it was

not necessary because she already took him to the neuro developmental ped. They

are clearly playing games with her because of the language issues.

Again, thanks for your help.

Pam was right - they need to do an FBA. Mom also needs to start requesting

everything in writing and in her native language. They need to have someone

at the meetings who can explain things to her in a language that she can

understand. She should learn to never sign anything and to take it home and

have it looked over by an advocate, if one cannot attend the meeting with

her. Also she needs to request an IEP evaluation in writing. They are

lying when they say she already had the evaluation or " an evaluation " with

the doctor. The school does it's own educational evaluation. See -->

http://www.wrightslaw.com/law/code_regs/20USC1415.html for information about

" native language. " Usually your state will also have their own version of

the IDEA on a website so you can look up if they add any more specifics to

" native language " or " easy to understand. " or similar.

Subject: ( ) Help For A Friend

Hi All,

I am trying to help a friend out and am hoping someone might be able to

help.

My friend's son is almost 8 and is not on the spectrum, but has behavioral

issues. For example, he cannot control his anger and has attacked students

and teachers and is destructive to his environment (i.e., classroom etc.) as

well. He needs to be physically restrained when he loses control. He goes to

the resource room for reading, but the main issue is his behavior and his

district (Plainfield) has done nothing about it. He was suspended numerous

times this year. At one point the district only allowed him to come to

school for 1/2 day and did not provide any supports for the academics that

were missed. He was allowed back in school full time only if his mother

consented to being his aide and coming and staying in school with him for

the 2nd half of the day which she did. Obviously, this is a crazy situation.

What makes this more difficult is that the mom does not speak English and

the district takes full advantage of that fact. I put her in touch with SPAN

and

they were supposed to help her, but the person told her to agree to be his

aide and in Sept. they could request an aide for her son. I think this is

just unacceptable. She needs help now. She does not speak English and does

not have a great deal of financial resources. As such, I was hoping someone

out there might have any suggestions for her and how she can proceed with

requesting an aide for her son so that he remains in district.

I apologize for taking your time, but I am trying to help a friend out and

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Again!

Hi EveryOne,

Perhaps if you or your friend describe what is going on with the Kombucha

fermentation the answer would be clearer. It is difficult to know just from a

photo

From what I can see in this picture, the Kombucha colony may not be healthy.

Looks like the reason might be the metal spigot on the fermenting container.

Metal should not come into contact with your fermenting Kombucha. As the

Kombucha becomes more acidic it can leach from the metal and this could be very

bad for not only the SCOBY but also your own health.

I would recommend starting again with a new Kombucha Colony, new starter tea and

a jar without any metal but again it is difficult to be sure from a photo.

Peace, Love and Harmony,

Bev

They said that the temperature was around 80degrees, black tea bags, granulated

brown sugar and apple cider vinegar as the base. They also mentioned that there

is another scoby in a jar beside that one and it does not have the spinely

growth on it. So perhaps as you were saying Bev, the metal spigot is probably

contributing to it.

Thanks for the help.

Hi, All!

This spigot looks very much like the one on my hexagonal BB & B CB container. My

spigot actually is white plastic (looks like nylon) with the metal-look coating

on the outside of the container only, not on the inside.

I'm curious about what is going on in the photo and waiting to hear more

information. If the spigot is metal instead of plastic, then this could be a

graphic reason to stay away from metal!

The ACV can definitely be the culprit if it wasnt properly pastuerized before

using it as starter. granulated brown sugar is most often white sugar with

caramel and other stuff added, so there could be a contaminant introduced from

that. Also, 80 is a little high for KT temp too, but i dont see how that in and

of itself would cause the growth. my advice would be start a new batch from the

" good " jar and use white sugar or organic " evaporated cane juice " which is

usually a pale blonde color (Florida crystals is a readily available brand), not

use ACV because of the possibility of introducing vinegar bacteria into your KT

(white distilled vinegar is technically acceptable, but real KT starter is much

preferable), and bring the temp down to 75 or less. if the problem happens

again, throw everything out and get a new starter.
