Guest guest
Hi For our son is decreased many of the OCD things...but they do not go away completely...in most cases...it just makes them (the child) a bit more manageable and able to listen to us when we say " you are a bit anxious...how about you go do " this " task instead. Without the medication they would want to continue with whatever the behavior is (My son's in cleaning things until they shine..shine my car, shine a penny, shine shine shine....won't necessarily want the item 'clean' just shiny). He's better able to listen to us when he's having an anxious moment...when we say to him that he might want to do something else and use his coping skills he's learning. He's using CBT therapy and it seems to be helping him with the anxiety but the medication is so crutial right now to keep him focused on his therapy....replacing old coping skills with new one... His trauma in the Russian orphanages is what caused his...and slowly we are dealing with all the 'crap' that happened to him during the 10 years he was in the 'system' there. Hope that helps Cheryl **************Can love help you live longer? Find out now.
