Guest guest
I was on steroids for a year had a hard time cong down off them so we had to go real slow they helped me with acute asthma but made me gain weight In a message dated 12/12/2010 5:12:49 P.M. [] Kenalog or other steroids This is a difficult question to ask because I'm not exactly sure how to word it to get my point across but I'll do the best I can. Can being on kenalog or other steroids cause even a mild exposure to turn into one that sends your system into overload and you became extremely symptomatic? I'm thinking that steroids will weaken the immune system and allow something that normally wouldn't bother you (like a mold exposure) to turn into something that could completely wreak havoc on your immune system and make you more susceptible to major health problems. I guess the best way to put it is can streroids turn a minor exposure into something major? Sorry I'm not making myself to clear I'm dealing with allot of brain fog today. Guest guest
I have experienced what you are talking about. The steroids made me so sick I ended up in bed and couldn't get out of bed for a week with a high fever and sore throat. Dr. Shoemaker says it's like throwing gasoline on a fire... Guest guest
Are you differentiating between steriods and corticosteriods here or are you saying they both do this? --- In , " Jack Thrasher, Ph.D. " <toxicologist1@...> wrote: > > There is ample information in the medical/scientific literature that steroid use increases the risk of aspergillosis. Guest guest
No. This information has been on my web site for sometime and is in the review paper written by me and S. Crawley on biocontaminants. Guest guest
Sorry. I haven't had time to read it yet. My dermatologist gave me kenalog injections skin depth only for a skin problem. Cleared up the bacterial infection but I developed brown stain there, so not going to get them anymore. --- In , " Jack Thrasher, Ph.D. " <toxicologist1@...> wrote: > > No. This information has been on my web site for sometime and is in the review paper written by me and S. Guest guest
Yes, and if you have not been listening , it has been mentioned at least once a week. Dr Shoe even says steroids are contra-indicated. When I was exposed to mold in 1991 , no one knew anything about it. i went to the dr because I had irritated lungs. She gave me a strong steroid inhaler. it tripped my into the worst MCS I ever had in my life and made living intolerable. Never take steroids. > > This is a difficult question to ask because I'm not exactly sure how to word it to get my point across but I'll do the best I can.
