Guest guest
Mr. Barnett issued an apology in his newsletter this month for their repeating in last month's issue of that horrid false light attack on my family by Heimpel and Jill of LA Weekly (2008). Their fraudulent writing was very hurtful to my husband and children. Even though I seldom write of my own family's mold experience, Heimpel and had referred to my daughter with Cystic Fibrosis as my " starring victim " as I have spoken out to expose the deceit of ACOEM, the US Chamber of Commerce et al. My daughter lives in LA and returned from lunch after just starting her first job out of college to see her co-workers reading the horrid writing of the dynamic duo, calling her a " starring victim " . It is amazing how low some people will stoop to keep the deceit going that mold in water damaged buildings does not harm. They could care less who gets hurt in the process. In my book, Heimpel and are at the very bottom on the barrel among yellow journalists. I am very appreciative to Mr. Barnett and QuanTem Labs for their apology. And I am very impressed. It takes a big man to say " I was wrong " in his own monthly newsletter. Too bad Heimpel and don't have the same moral character Mr. Barnett does. This is what Mr. Barnett wrote: Message from Barnett, President I APOLOGIZE: Sending out the QuanTEM Chronicles for the past five years has been a joy. Through this news letter we have met many of you whom we might not have otherwise. Your comments have always been constructive and in almost every case, positive. Occasionally we have some fun with it; but, the main purpose is to highlight information which directly affects our industry. It's not our intent to sell you on an idea as much as to provide items and articles which can be of value and, in many cases, thought provoking. Last month we included a link to an article in the LA Daily newspaper entitled " The Toxic Mold Rush " . This article didn't shine a very flattering light on Mrs. Sharon Kramer and she was kind enough to bring this to our attention. Mrs Kramer wasn't happy about seeing this article resurrected. For this I apologize to Mrs. Kramer and to our readers. It is not our intent to link to or promote articles which engage in personal attacks. No person or group gain from this type of publication. Please know, this won't happen again. For every topic there many opposing view points and rest assured we will dig out as many of these as we can. The exchange of diverse opinions and views is what makes this country great and it's what keeps our industry growing. Now, can you be of help? Yes you can, if you see an article or have penned one which is beneficial to our industry, please let us know. We would like to consider linking to your offering. Thank you for your continuing support of QuanTEM. E. Barnett President QuanTEM Laboratories, LLC _jbarnett@..._ (mailto:jbarnett@...) Guest guest
I am glad that this apology was issued. It is important to feel vindicated when your " good name " and " reputation " are dragged throught the mud. It is tough when our children have to bear the brunt of their parent's activism, which takes courage, and tenacity to " stand at the edge of the cliff " for another (or many other) " voiceless " people. Personal attacks eventually sink the people who write them. Sometimes it takes a long time for the truth to prevail.
