Guest guest
Is there anyone here that was tested soon after their WDB exposures for allergies and shown to be highly allergic to many mold mixes or types of mold and other things that may actuall have mold involved with them? also what is, or is there a difference between haveing IgE to certain molds and haveing just a high IgE responce with a allergy, is there a difference? or is it basically the same thing? is there anyone that many years later, practiceing avoidance, ext. that have been re-tested and shown not to have any allergies at all? mainly because I have read something along the lines that basically said some allergies go away after you remove yourself from the allergy causeing agent,or whatever, or what I got from it and a few other readings is that maybe these are not true allergies, I'm kindof felling that this is probably right. a true allergy doesn't just disappear, does it? I can also see where after you have suffered through a bad WDB exposure and are just hyper-sensitive to what seems to be almost everthing, that haveing intrademal allergy testing or anykind of testing done where something you have just been highly sensitized to might be involved would cause a reaction/welp or worse responce for some but maybe it a reaction based on hypersensitiveness, and or in some part inflammatory, and just not a true allergy. I'm looking for a paper that I posted quite a while back by a Dr. V, votini, something like that, the title had something along the lines of water damaged buildings and mycotoxin exposure, I'm thinking it was the full text, it talked about the possability that patients showing IgE to certain molds and that this may actually show that these patients were indeed exposed to mycotoxins. I'm thinking the year of it being published may have been around 2003, but cant remember for sure, I'd really like to re-read that if anyone knows what I'm talking about and has the article. Guest guest
Jeanine, I went to an allergist for first time to test to see if I was allergic to cats after a friend gave me gift of one to see if I could keep it, since I thought I had developed allergy to cats. Doctor did those skin tests and almost everything he tested make a wheel. He said " I can't believe you didn't know you had all these allergies! " but I hardly ever sneezed at anything but felt tired all the time. He asked his nurse to come in and help measure all the welts. It was the first time tests of any sort came back abnormal even though I felt crummy all the time. I knew there must be a connection but didn't know what the connection was. That was a year or so before I joined this group after reading symptoms of toxic illness that most closely resembled my symptoms. Now I have been diagnosed with RSD, continued swelling and inflamation of a joint in my foot after a minor accident. RSD is swelling, pain and inflamation that goes for long time past when one would expect and sometimes never goes away but I'm making some progress. I became super sensitive to house after taking a prescription medicine that had a side effect of suppressing my immune system in a house that had sustained water damage that previous to that hadn't bothered me except that I had developed allergies. I have not retested for allergies. I do not experience spring and fall allergies like I used to but that could be because of the improved filters I have on home air system. > > Is there anyone here that was tested soon after their WDB exposures > for allergies and shown to be highly allergic to many mold mixes or types of mold and other things that may actuall have mold involved with them? also what is, or is there a difference between haveing IgE to certain molds and haveing just a high IgE responce with a allergy, is there a difference? or is it basically the same thing? > > is there anyone that many years later, practiceing avoidance, ext. that have been re-tested and shown not to have any allergies at all? >
Guest guest
I tested positive 2 times to mold (some) then later this year had negative testing as an allergen. But the tests for me where no the same as they were not as thorough as the initial ones. I still have inflammatory responses in tests.  Cannot off the top of my head say what is what in the tests. (brain fog)  Mayleen ________________________________ From: osisposis <jeaninem660@...> Sent: Thu, July 29, 2010 7:44:24 PM Subject: [] allergy and IGE  Is there anyone here that was tested soon after their WDB exposures for allergies and shown to be highly allergic to many mold mixes or types of mold and other things that may actuall have mold involved with them? also what is, or is there a difference between haveing IgE to certain molds and haveing just a high IgE responce with a allergy, is there a difference? or is it basically the same thing? is there anyone that many years later, practiceing avoidance, ext. that have been re-tested and shown not to have any allergies at all? mainly because I have read something along the lines that basically said some allergies go away after you remove yourself from the allergy causeing agent,or whatever, or what I got from it and a few other readings is that maybe these are not true allergies, I'm kindof felling that this is probably right. a true allergy doesn't just disappear, does it? Guest guest
Question: Does anyone know of local, in-person support groups for folks who have been exposed and are seeking a psychoeducational approach to living with exposure's effects? Thanks for any input... sally ________________________________ From: dragonflymcs <dragonflymcs@...> Sent: Tue, August 10, 2010 8:12:22 PM Subject: Re: [] allergy and IGE  I tested positive 2 times to mold (some) then later this year had negative testing as an allergen. But the tests for me where no the same as they were not as thorough as the initial ones.
