Guest guest
I bought a Sleep Number bed in 2006 and it has been very good to me, even though my flatback is getting worse. I'm new to this forum and am really enjoying reading the posts! Janet Bellware , Marzinzik <dmarzinzik@...> wrote: > > I have a sleep number mattress and LOVE IT!!! It gets in the smallest areas of my back and gives me support like no other. I stay at the high end of number options and never wake up with any back pain. Also, my husband is a restless sleeper and I never feel him turning over or shaking the whole bed. I do have a flatback from spinal fusion. Good luck.... > > > > > ________________________________ > From: Peggy Greene <jpgunlimited@...> > > Cc: Fibro-Sisters > Sent: Friday, February 27, 2009 7:29:07 PM > Subject: [ ] mattresses > > > Does anyone use a Sleep Number bed? Would you recommend it? My hubby told me I can finally start looking for a new bed! (We've been sleeping on a $75 mattress/box springs for 10 years!). I currently have a 4-inch Serta memory foam topper. It seems to help but isn't giving me the full support that I need. Is there any other bed I should consider? > > Peggy >
Guest guest
I went mattress shopping on Saturday. I tried out a variety of Serta mattresses then went to another store and tried Tempurpedic. I love the Tempurpedic! I want the king size with dual adjustable mattresses but it would be a special order and about $8500. I may just have to be happy with the Tempurpedic mattress and box springs and forget about an adjustible bed. I was just thinking an adjustable bed would be so nice to have in my old age. Peggy [ ] Re: mattresses Peggy,Well, the thing about the Tempur is that there really isn't anypressure back up against your hips...so you never wake up with thatfeeling that your shoulder or hip has been pressing against a firmobject. I think a topper can improve an overly firm or old mattess, but I do not think it can duplicate the effect of the real, whollyfoam mattress. I would advise you to be aware that there are manysales people that will gladly sell you am imitation Tempupedic. Don'tbe tempted. Also, Tempurpedic had a very generous 30day return policy, which givesyou enough time to sleep on it and make an infomred decision. Youshould check and verify that is still the case if you go this route. Ithink other reputable companies do this too...so no matter what youchoose, make sure you can return for full refund...you just never knowuntil you spend a few nights on a bed!Take Care, Cam
Guest guest
Charlie: The only kind of mattress to get is an isleep (www.isleep.com). Have had one for about 3 years now and wouldn't trade if for the world. Lyndon McGill, D.C. The Spine Clinic, Inc. Guest guest
Grace refused to sleep in her toddler bed once she was casted and opted to sleep on one of those foam fold-out couches for a long time. Then we bought a twin size bed from IKEA, with just one of their basic mattresses and she loves it! He seemed to prefer a foam based mattress rather than a spring based one. Other than that, I have no clue if there are specific mattresses for casted kids. I do know that we also had to put up a lot of bed rails because he tended to roll right off the bed a lot easier. I think the cast gave him a false sense of "safely wrapped in blankets".aMommy to Doc.From: luckyvtmama <amibeautinet@...>infantile scoliosis treatment Sent: Sat, March 12, 2011 4:30:58 PMSubject: Mattresses Abigail just got a new twin bed but doesn't have a mattress yet, are any recommended specifically for kids in casts/braces? -Thanks
