Guest guest
kristina,  thank you so much for some good news! do you know if this lab is credible-ie can we trust the results from this lab? i've just had to question the testing from a well-know conventional lab so i'm a little more skeptical nowadays.... So this is great news for mold patients who can't get a Doc to sign off on testing.   There are CLIA accredited and they DISCOUNT. http://www.directla bs.com/ I hope this helps a few people out there

Guest guest
Dr. Hooper is great guy from Realtime labs although it was not cheap. I hear tell that he and Shoemaker are now getting along But I dont know that for sure. I trust anything either one does from experience. Guest guest
Speaking of RealTime Labs credibility, I have asked about these tests before and just wanted to report something I learned about this testing to the group. First off, we have seen both Dr. Gray and Dr. W. Rea, and both these well respected doctors use Realtime Labs, Dr. Jack Thrasher toxicologist and member of this group also uses this lab, so 3 smart experts in their fields who use it (and these are just the ones I know of). Secondly, we just repeated the Realtimes mycotoxins urine test (1st test last summer). Between these 2 test times, my kid did some CSM, has been out of the moldy house for 5 months. His 1st test showed ochratoxins at about 23 ppb (dr. gray told us non-exposed people would only show ppt), 2nd testing the ochratoxin was in the nondetectable range and now he shows tricothecenes. Dr. Rea says that sometimes one mycotoxin masks or suppresses (forget the exact word he used) another, so it isn't like a brand new mycotoxin showed up, it's just that the one was hiding the other, now the first one is reduced and we can see the 2nd one. Also, when the rest of us ran this test, we had tricothecenes, so this showing up in my sick kid is sort of family consistent. Dr. Rea said overall, the 2nd test showed an improvement. (Unfortunately we have yet another " lab result normalizing " without any actual symptom improvement, but as we peel back the layers of this onion, can only hope that eventually the patient improves and not just the labs.... I can also say that the samples sent from our house to realtimes for analysis also show molds consistent w/the mycotoxins found in our urine samples. And my sick kid also did a sputum sample that showed ochratoxin, as did his urine samples... sue v. >Dr. Hooper is great guy from Realtime labs although it was not cheap.
