Guest guest
My mum is displaying symptoms of Parkinsons. She has suffered mental health difficulties all her life and has been on a cocktail of drugs for years. We are trying to sort out assessment as it may be the drugs that are causing a secondary type presentation of parkinsons. I sent for a parkinsons booklet which explains drug options and how they work. I am gobsmacked to learn that the drugs target (to change the expression of) COMT and MAO and block glutamate. This is surprising if you saw my previous post and the gentics dr said that SNP's to these genes do not cause disease yet these are what parkinsons drugs target. These are genes tested as part of Yasko panel and the suggested protocol also aims to change the expression of these. I found this very interesting, especially as the same things appear to be causing very similar problems for my mother and my son. Guest guest
Hi, I don't think I can help a lot, but have you looked into extrapyramidal symptoms and the various dyskinesias, which could be caused by the drugs. Best wishes Patience > > My mum is displaying symptoms of Parkinsons. She has suffered mental health difficulties all her life and has been on a cocktail of drugs for years.
