Guest guest
Hi Sherry - My son is 10 now and yes I can totally relate to what you're going through. The nice thing is that it has been a couple of years since we've made a trip to the emergency room!! Most days you can't even tell he has asthma. Being proactive on the allergies has helped tremendously. It was a hard decision to decide to do the testing and then put him on the steroids but at some point we had to decide whether it was worse to deal with all the asthma attacks or help him lead a more normal life by putting him on the steroids. Looking back on it I'm sure we did the right thing. He can participate in sports and he can even spend the night at friends houses now... well, as long as they don't have a dog LOL! Two weeks seems a long time to wait for the doc!!! I don't know if I could be that patient. I'm sure that has really added to your stress Luckily we have Kaiser and we can usually get in right away - same day most of the time.
