Guest guest
Reverse osmosis is best, short of distilling. Home Depot has an under the sink one for $159. [ ] Water filter What kind of water filter is recommended? Do you need to invest $$ in reverse osmosis or is something less expensive OK? I would appreciate any specific recommendations. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi ! Geoff here. You asked: " Hi everyone. I have a question regarding water filters. Does anyone use these instead of Ozarka or Pur water filters as advertised? If someone does have a water purfication system, which one do you have? I want to know how to find out who is the best and for the money. " COST: Lowe's or Home Depot + 1 hr by qualified plumber installation to filter all incoming water to your home. Est < $200 total. Filter cartridge determines contaminants removed - recommend getting type to remove CHLORINE. Filters last 4-6 months depending on water consumption. Whole house (point of entry) mounting ensures freedom from chlorine gas (toilets, washers, showers) and skin contact (bathing) as well as drinking. If you use a clothes washer and/or dishwasher, consider a POD (point of delivery) backup such as a faucet-mounted PUR for when the gpm (gallons per minute) being drawn through the pipe is more than the filter can handle and it goes through the bypass, unfiltered. I went without the backup POD filter for 5 years, but find the convenience worth the effort and cost for me. The backup POD filter lasts about 12 months due to low usage. It is used a few times weekly and we have potable municipal water, so contamination of the backup POD filter is a non-issue. I put the POD in our laundry basin, as it is close to the kitchen. I have been using this exact system for 7 years now with good results. My filters last about 4 months with my family of 5, daily bathing, clothes washer and dish washer, etc. I did extensive research before settling on this methodology, and used other filter types as well. Replacement filters are also available online, but cheaper through the big box stores noted. I have not checked filter prices via eBay. Guest guest
I don't know where you live but where I live, we can buy good quality filtered water at a water store. hugs_may99 <hugs4Him99@...> wrote: We have a PUR water filter on our faucet but the last two have been flaky & will die with no warning (light is supposed to turn red to warn but then last quite a bit longer still). I'd like something different but we can't do a house filter at the moment; just the faucet. Any suggestions on a good one? Thanks, Michele --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Hi all. The " Dr " water filter is a simple charcoal filter. It works great for VOCs, (chorline, chloramines, pesticides, fertilizers, etc..) and reduces SOME metal content. However, it does not remove cadnium, arsenic, fluoride, mercury, cysts, and many other tenacious contaminants. The best filter out there we've discovered is called the Wholly Water filter. It removes EVERYTHING. Dr. (and Dr ) tested water samples herself from this filter when we visited her clinic in '05. she told us it was " very good to use " ... and it was " some of the best filtered tap water " she'd tested. see it here if interested... www.waterpollutionfilters.com
Guest guest
Has that water ever been tested with a syncrometer? The site also has the structured and clustered water. So, to purify the water, would you first filter and then put through something like Kangen - as I don't believe they remove fluoride etc. either. Has anyone found that they do anything for cancer?
