Guest guest
, A very interesting paper was published online in 2006, " A California Builder’s Guide to Reducing Mold Risk, A REPORT TO THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION " This can be found at: http://www.masongrant.com/pdf_2008/California_Builders_Guide.pdf This 61 page booklet offers tips to the builder, and to the homeowner for maintenance long after the home is built. You might also want to look at www.homemoisture.org, where you will find a few Power Point presentations by a professor from North Dakota State University related to building in a manner to reduce the likelihood of later mold problems. You might also consider the HVAC suggestions in my note a few days ago. Gil Posted by: " cahydesmond " cahydesmond@... cahydesmond Date: Mon Jul 19, 2010 4:41 pm ((PDT)) Hi Everyone, My daughter's partner wants to build a home. The one they are in is very old and in CT. that means mold one way or another although they are trying very hard to keep it in control. I would like to get him a book or magazine subscription of some type where he could get ideas on building a healthy home. Are there any good books or magazines that you could recommend? He is not a contractor but he is quite handy. I am sure he will do well building his home. But it would be nice for them to get some ideas on the healthiest type of home they can build. Thanks cathy _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail is redefining busy with tools for the New Busy.
