I have a 3 yr old Twins that Im look for a ipad device that is friendly

and not expensive. One is finger happy and snaps at everything on

everything in his view so I would like to have only thing on it that

would be safe, Not buy anything or take him out of the game or program.

Any idea's?

Thanks

We have Leappad explorer I am thrilled. The kids have abused the toy and it has still held up! We decided not to use an ipad type because it was too expensive. The Leappad is a great educational tool too, yet not a substitute for you helping your kid learn. If guns kill people then pencils cause misspelled

I have found titems from garage sales that were I think from back in the days of Tandy computers, and they do some cool things that get a kids attention. I bought some ($30 a pop) games for my computer once and what a let down, boooooorrrrrinnggg.

So, can you tell more about what a kid can do with a Leappad Explorer? Is it $40 a game? Does it go on the internet for 'apps'? Does it play DVD's ? Just what does it do?

I'm totally lost when it comes to technology, plus, we live in a very rural poor area so I have only once even seen a car CD player in my life.

In other words, we don't bump into kids using these things at the park to see at works and what doesn't. Thanks a million. I liked how you gave us the tip that it is kid-proof, that helps.

I would glady buy some of these learning items for our autism fellow (6) but it's just way too confusing, and unfortnately, a sales person isn't out to help you sort out what's a good decision that will be well worth the money. Even if he's knowledgable he might not know what interests a young child, those kind of consumers don't give good feedback !

Thanks.

This is great info for kids who enjoy technology! My 4 year old son with high functioning autism has always gravitated to smart phones & computers. There has been many a time that I've let him borrow my iPhone. I've given him my old iPhone when I upgraded but I don't think I'm able to upload any new apps so now he's using my new iPhone for the newer apps he likes. This Leappad explorer sounds like a nice idea for Christmas. It's a little pricey for us right now. Thanks for sharing!Gladys
