Donna,

All fish should be labeled to say whether it's farm raised or wild

caught. I think it's a federal regulation. If it isn't, you can always

ask where it's from. I won't buy any farm-raised fish at all, and never

have a bit of trouble telling which ones they are.

I recently heard someone talking about the earthquake/tsunami in Japan

last year. They were saying we shouldn't eat Pacific salmon because it's

too radioactive. I don't think we're getting much real news about

what's going on after that quake and tsunami.

I learned just the other day that they are catching wild salmon when small

then farm raising it and labeling it wild salmon. I figure now to just buy

Fresh Wild Caught Salmon. The only problem I see now is if " they " get

their way and GMO salmon are released into the streams. No more Wild

Salmon it will be GMO. I don't know if this passed or not but this is what

" they " were trying to do.

Actually, it's not a problem with farm or wild, it's location, i.e., U.S.,

Chile, Vietnam, etc. News says it matters. Also, it's not the salmon that's

radioactive, but some tuna that's shown up (I think off San Diego). I guess

there's some confusion about this - the tuna swam over here from Japan (normal

for them), but salmon and other small fish don't do that. But I'm with you -

I've given up on buying any farm-raised fish.
