Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I am separating our conversation into parts. Yasko does not do consults that I know of. She has the protocol set up very clearly on her board. She directs that you work with your protocol with your health practioner. She gives direction based on testing. She has a board that is a very good source for information and direction. It is moderated by people with experience with the protocol who refer back to posts by Dr Y on whatever topics are brought up. Dr Y will pop in and answer questions, several month, addressing questions that have not been addressed in the past. The board is a filing system as well. She has this so well laid out that you can find for using her protocol (supplements and herbs) to address each snp and " conditions " that arise as part of methylation problems or as part of the clinical condition related. The board leans heavily toward treatment of autism. Since I started the protocol, she has created her own supplements per snp or condition. She uses smaller doses than often found in other supplements. I think she is more fosused on tweaking and not over supplementing. I first took the nutrigenomic test which reveals the different genetic snps. Then I started with her step 1 and went from there. She believes in addressing excitocotoxity from glutamates first as well as ammonia... I was also high in ammonia levels when I started and since I have not tested lately.. may again be. She has lists of herbs, supps to address each condition. You start with her basic testing. You can order through her and if you do, she will comment on each test and offer direction. Then she intends you take this to your health practioner and work on the protocol with this person. I receive all through email. She uses the following tests: UTE/UTEE-UTE (urine toxic elements urine toxic essential elements), a MAP (metabolic analysis profile), Doctors Data comprehensive stool test or metametrix GI (dna) profile (she is big on gut issues), UAA (urine amino acids). She also tests for h pylori as sees a connection with certain MAP results (i think) and I know certain metal excretions.. so much more.. she uses one test to clue her into another test that might lead to more info and direction.. huge puzzle she puts together. Some people re run testes frequently to chart progress and for more direction, esp the moms of autistic children. Some can chart the metal excretions over time liek a bell curve. They usually test for this monthly. I have not. I took rich's test once. I would like to test again. My MVC or whatever that measure is.. width of red blood cell? has normalized. My AAs are much improved. I am excreting 9-13 metals pretty consistantly when I do test. I was excreting 4 at baseline. I am piecing the supps.. this is how her protocol worked when i started. Its difficult for me to switch to her supps which are specifically geared for snp being addressed. She had (hopedully still has) a list of supps for each snp. Many you are to talk half of or sprinkles of. Some supps are required and others you can experiment with one or two at a time to see which help you the most. I had a neutotransmitter panel years ago.. showed high gaba. This is not the case now. Not sure what was going on at that time. She uses the UAA to judged gaba levels. gaba and glutamate are tested in this panel. I am high for glutamates and low for gaba. I am not sure where I am with the methylation block since it has been a while since I tested. I am seeing the RB cells are smaller as they should be. I dont know if I need the glut because I am detoxing because of methylation (and have moved from mold house) and jsut need extra help or if I am still not creating glut for myself because I am not methylating. I think... that when I take NAC that I need less glut. so one of the precursers may be helpful for me. I need to take it out and add back in and pay more attention. I forget to take my glut sometimes and it " creeps " back at me.. I am trying to remember to take am and pm regardless of how I feel anyway.. I think I am addressing a hole by the time I wait for symptoms. I am due for a gut test. I had the nutreval panel with genova??? about 6 months ago.. it contains a UAA, MAP, UEE-UTE, red blood cell nutrient levels, cellular lipid levels, more.. i forget.. great bang for the buck if insurance covers and mine amazingly did.. I think many do for some reason. So I am really due for them all. Robin Kathy: I would really like to hear how the flow of how the Yasko works from ordering then doing the test right through receiving your individual protocol and what type of support comes after that? Do you actually person/phone consult with her or is it all in writing? Are you piecemealing various brands for your individual protocol? And speaking of GABA, have you also done a neurotransmitter panel? And once again back to the glut, am also curious if you have managed to shift any of the methyl block thus elevate glut levels?
