Over reaction to pain Question

I've have an over-reaction to pain that is getting worse. We're in question

whether it was shingles or this. I did have small break-out areas that dried up

with anti-virals. It kicked up yeast.

Those who have it, what helped you? I have neurothathy that travels, from the

one side of my body to the other, or settles in the thoratic area. I had a

sublexed vertabra, w pinched nerves.

Did anyone get relief with chirpractor using applied kinesiology?

I went to a alternative doc. who wanted to do candida, mold, food allergy skin

testing before giving an anti-fungal. Then allergy shots, w epi's on hand.  I

don't think that's a good idea. I have mcs, & emf sensitivities.  Sleeping &

functioning period has gotten hard.

If you have never had this done, have the alt doc check your seratonin levels.

Low seratonin will cause severe pain reaction. D

I have had severe neck pain due to a disabling injury and subsequent failed

fusion surgery on three cervical levels.  There are several treatments that

help

when the pain gets so bad that any alternative to that feeling is preferable:

    1.  I haven't found a new provider, but when I lived in Washington

State, I

had cranio-sacral work done with an occupational/physical therapist.

Non-invasive and

amazingly effective.  Make sure the person has

certification/adequate

training.

    2.  Trigger point injections with lidocaine only--no steroids for me,

as I

am hypersensitive to medications.

    3.  Neurotherapy, during which they inject scars with lidocaine.

    4.  Nebulized glutathione, available by prescription only.   For the

first

time in thirteen years, I had no pain--for three hours after my glutathione

treatment.  Again,

this is not the Rediabsorb, but the vials that come from a

compounding

pharmacy and which require a prescription.  Special nebulizer doesn't have the

tubing that

causes reactions for some like me.

    5.  Cognitive-behavioral training in order to " reframe " descriptions of

pain.

    6.  Strain-counterstrain training in order to loosen muscles impacted.

    7.  Biofeedback training/diaphramatic breathing.  Again, please ensure

that

the provider is licensed and certified as a biofeedback specialist.

We are all diffferent.  Note that there are strong correlations between chronic

pain and depression, as the body is designed to cope with acute rather than

chronic pain.  The state of constant arousal that pain causes the body's

systems to maintain depletes many of our body's natural resources for coping

with pain and inflammation, including the neurotransmitters associated with

energy and feelings of well-being.

I wouldn't presume to give medical advice--just sharing what has helped me to

live more fully with a disabling injury and consequent failed surgery.  I did

create a chronic pain management program that had some good results; obviously,

this was prior to my exposure, but some of the same treatments I've taught folks

living with chronic pain--and their families--have helped alleviate some of

the exposure symptoms I'm experiencing now.  ARGH!  It's a struggle.  Good

luck

to you...

over-reaction to pain can also mean effects within the sensory system.

Hi Kathy,

I have MCS and FM and probably some CFS, I find that pancreatic enzymes

help me alot. You can take them with meals and inbetween. I have to use the

animal-based enzymes as the plant ones are made from molds and I don't do

well on them.

I have also used bromelain which is another enzyme. They all help to

reduce inflammation and can also help with allergies by improving digestion.

sun theanine might help since it calms the nervouse system.. mine is elevated

(sympathtetic nervous system) and when that happens pain is extremely magnified.

It can take days to bring this down.
