Guest guest
HI My guys sleep in a room with no carpets and their mattresses have a vinyl cover on it to keep the dust down. I also cut back a lot on their dairy intake because this causes a lot of mucus with my sons and then they start to snore and do not get enough sleep. Since I have taken the carpet out of my whole house actually but since the carpet has been removed from their room I can control the dust better because I just have to wash the floors. Carpet keeps alot of dust and allergens in it even after vacuuming. The boys also sleep with their head raised a little, I put another pillow or blanket under the mattress and this seems to help as well. Take Care Caroline Mom to 15 year old Neil and identical twins with DS Re: Tonsils & Adenoids had his tonsils and adenoids removed a few years ago. He had constant sinus infections, lots of ear infections, and loud snoring (mouth wide open). Although the number of ear infections has decreased dramatically, he continues to have one sinus infection after another during the winter months (here in Iowa) and he still snores. A few years agao, we had him take a sleep apnea test since kids with DS are so prone to that. He passed it but I am still questioning whether he might not have it. He is a very restless sleeper (he's all over in the bed). There is some controversy over whether to have adenoids removed or not, but did just fine.
